The lights come on at Delta MX Park May 15th–16th for the opening round of the 2026 Battle of the Border Night Racing Series presented by River Raisin Powersports Kawasaki and VP Racing Fuels.

We’re kicking the weekend off Friday night with Pitbike Racing before rolling into Saturday’s Jr Track action and full Night Series racing under the lights.

Nothing beats bar-to-bar racing at Delta after dark. 🔥

For the 2026 season, AMA has updated several of our race classes to better align with national standards.

These updates help ensure consistency across events and provide a clearer path for rider progression.

📣 All classes have been updated on the website — please review before race day.

🧒 YOUTH CLASS UPDATES

• Mini Beginner (7–11) 59-65cc & Mini Trail (New Name, displacement & Age)
• Mini Open (11–15) 85cc-112cc (New Age – 12+ required for Supermini)

🏁 TEEN / YOUNG ADULT UPDATES

• Schoolboy B/C (12–17) (Now 125–250cc)
• Girls (9-14) (Updated Age Range)

⚡ NEW CLASS ADDED

• Open Class B – Electric (16+)
👉 Electric bikes will NOT compete against gas-powered bikes in amateur classes

📌 IMPORTANT NOTES

• All other classes remain in place with minor refinements
• Age and displacement limits must be followed as listed

⚠️ IMPORTANT – 2026 AMA CHEST PROTECTOR RULE UPDATE ⚠️

For the 2026 season, the American Motorcyclist Association has implemented an updated chest protector requirement for competition.

All riders competing in D12MX events must meet the following standards:

🛡 REQUIRED PROTECTION

• Must cover the sternum, anterior ribs, posterior ribs, and spine (T1–T12)
• Must include hard, rigid, or plastic armor on BOTH the front and back (Armored Vest Style protectors are allowed)

❌ NOT ALLOWED

• Soft-padded shirts without hard armor
• Front-only roost guards
• Back-only spine protectors

📌 ADDITIONAL NOTES

• Protectors may be worn under or over the jersey
• Applies to amateur and professional competition
• Riders without compliant gear will NOT be permitted on the track

📣 Riders - Make sure your gear meets the new requirements now to avoid any issues at signup or staging. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RACE WITHOUT PROPER EQUIPMENT!
