Somedays you are just praying to make it to bedtime.

Somedays are smiles and giggles.

Somedays are meltdowns and tears.

Somedays there are healthy, homemade meals.

Somedays are happy meals in the living room.

Somedays the house is clean and tidy.

Somedays it looks like a tornado went through the house.

There’s just something about a Day 1…

When this program was first announced, I immediately shut it down. My goal right now is weight loss. I don’t want to lift weights.. I would just get bulky… right?? But then I took some time to educate myself on it. I wanted to learn more about the benefits of lifting. Turns out, I was far from wrong.

Lifting actually will increase your metabolism throughout the entire day. So, I spend 45 minutes working out in the morning and get to reap the benefits throughout the remainder of my day?? SIGN ME UP!

So this year, I bought myself the gift of self-care for my birthday, but in a different way than you might think. I bought myself new weights and a new weight bench. I am worth it. The older you get, the more important it is to have strong muscles. So, I guess it’s time to focus because I am another year older now! 🤪

Follow along my journey through these next 8 weeks as I work toward becoming the best version of me! I’m coming up on my 1 year postpartum mark and it’s time to take it to a new level. Let’s do this!

After a rough an emotional pregnancy, moving states, switching jobs, adjusting to life with two kids, postpartum, and everything else that life brings, I took my foot off the gas with coaching a bit. I had to re-focus, re-energize, and re-adjust. But now, I am back and ready to help you crush your goals!

In my little hiatus, I realized how much I missed it. I missed the community. I missed the accountability. I missed the energy. I missed the passion. I missed the confidence it brought me.

So, I am back. I wish I could say I am back and better than ever, but let’s be real! 😂😅 I‘m back and I am me. I am on my own weight loss journey and have a long way to go if we are being honest. But, I am here to link arms with you along the way if you are ready to do this with me!

It is the best time, too! Our brand new program just hit the library and I will be kicking it off on Monday. I will be lifting to maximize my calorie burn throughout the day and strengthen this mom bod!

Excuses are bu****it.

Yup. I said it. Too early for that? Sorry, your following the wrong girl.

I hear so many excuses being a health and fitness coach. And don’t get it twisted, I make so many excuses too. Excuses are just security blankets for our minds to make it okay that we aren’t doing something we should be doing.

Let me challenge you to something today. Let’s swap out our excuses for reasons, or whys. I’ve always had a “why” big or small. Started as simply wanting to look better, then it turned into being healthier, then turned into sweating for the wedding, and in November, my why became the biggest why I have ever had- for my baby.

No matter what your why is, find it and cling to it. Let it be what gets you out of bed in the morning. What gets you to do it when you don’t want to. What keeps you going when it gets hard. You got this, sister! 💜

It’s time that we chill out.

Yup. I said it. We forget how to give ourselves grace. We forget how to have balance. We are frankly too damn hard on ourselves.

Life is not black and white. There is no hard line that separates “good” and “bad.” There is a balance.

Most times, I come in here sharing nutrition and workouts and motivation. I am super passionate about that and I live my life 80% in that way. But, there is another 20%. That 20% often goes behind the camera and is hidden. It’s the side we don’t want to talk about. It’s the side we hide from others because it isn’t as glamorous. But, it’s real. And it is totally okay.

Tonight, I was not feeling it. I did not want to cook and I was feeling exhausted. I prioritized watching The Bachelor and cuddling with my husband over my workout. I prioritized grabbing Culver’s and saving the time of cooking over a healthy meal. Do I make those choices daily? Absolutely not. But I made them today. And that’s totally okay. And it’s okay if you make those choices too.

Don’t be so hard on yourself, sister. Give yourself some grace. If you want the ice cream, eat the freaking ice cream! Life will go on. We don’t have to put our lives on hold for health. And we don’t have to stress about perfection.

I used to be that girl who wore long pants/jeans all summer long. I wouldn’t be caught dead showing my legs. I was so self-conscious at the size I was, especially in my legs. 🤦‍♀️

Let’s not even talk about swimsuits. You couldn’t catch me within a 50 foot radius of a body of water for fear that someone would ask me to swim. Just the word swimsuit sent a lump in my through, knots in my stomach and chills down my spine. 👙

I would have rather sweat and been uncomfortable than to bare my body. I hated every second of it, but that was the reality of it all. 😓

Have you been there? Are you nervous about summer for that reason? I get it, girl! 👯‍♀️

But, it’s not too late! The snow may be falling, but summer is right around the corner! Get started on those goals now, so that when summer {finally) does roll around, you will feel comfortable in whatever clothes you decide to rock! ✨

We, especially us women, are too damn hard on ourselves. We get down on ourselves if we aren't a size 4, or if we don't have a "flat stomach" or a thigh gap, or aren't just "perfect." But let me tell you, perfection isn't reality- it's just not! Even those people you see on tv or magazines who appear to be perfect have flaws.

Here is my example. These two pictures were taken within minutes of each other. Same outfit, different pose. Don't get down on yourself because you don't "look like someone else." Let me tell you, most of the time people don't even look like themselves! Sure, my stomach is getting flatter and my obliques may show on a good day, but guess what?! The second I sit down, there are still some rolls and fluff. WHO CARES?! I know that I am healthy and fit.

I don't wear a size 4, or even a 8 for that matter. I have hips and a butt, and that's the way it is. I don't have a thigh gap, sometimes my legs rub together when I run. And yes, my stomach has some rolls and fluff.

Why do I say all of this? I say it to show you that everyone is different and everyone has a "highlight reel." Don't compare your "normal" to someone else's highlight. Hell, don't compare yourself at all. You are you. Love yourself for that. Take care of your body, move, and fuel it with nutrition. THAT is what matters, not a size on a tag or a number on a scale. Love yourself and your body. Live healthy, live happy.
