Bob Bellizzi's Grand Slam Baseball Camp

Summer baseball camp since 1993 located at the Town of Bethlehem's Elm Avenue Park in Delmar. Instruction, drills, scrimmages, and games.

We are regulated and certified as a Day Camp by the Health Dept in accordance with New York State laws and regulations, and are inspected twice annually. Entering our 33rd year in 2025, Bob Bellizzi's Grand Slam Baseball Camp continues to bring the finest baseball instruction to area children. With some of the Capital District's best current and former college/high school coaches and players on our staff, the Camp provides an excellent setting for learning the skills and intricacies of baseball. Mid-day recreational swimming period. All campers receive a free Camp T-shirt and a Camp Certificate with Coach's Evaluation. Come join the fun this summer! Located since 1993 at the Town of Bethlehem's Elm Avenue Park in Delmar. Inspected and certified annually as a Day Camp by Albany County Health Department in accordance with NY State law. Weekly contests include home-run derby, around the bases, long toss, and fastest pitch competitions. Capped off each Friday with the traditional camp relay race and certificate presentations. As we close out our 2026 summer season, we want to extend a gigantic THANK YOU to our counseling staff!

Made up of Capital Region coaches and players at the high school and collegiate level, we are so lucky to have many staff members who previously attended Bellizzi Grand Slam Baseball Camps before becoming counselors and coaches themselves. We were so lucky to have them this year!

Week 3 — and our 2026 summer season — has come to a close!

What a week it was! ☀️ Beautiful weather throughout, with plenty of sunshine, swimming, competitions and, of course… BASEBALL! ⚾️

Congratulations to all of our campers and staff on a fantastic week! 👏 The week was highlighted by close games ⚾️, walk-off hits 💥, swing-off tiebreakers, double and triple plays, and lots of new skills being learned and developed!

🏅 We wish to congratulate our Camper of the Week and Most Improved Camper — both of whom attended several weeks of camp this summer and showed tremendous growth and improvement along the way!

Special congratulations to Coach Daniel Leach’s team for winning the Rag Ball Tournament on Thursday with a thrilling 2–1 victory! 🏆

🏃‍♂️ And congratulations to Coach Owen Turner’s relay team for bringing home the BODE Bat in yesterday morning’s Team Relay Race! 🏆

As we close out the 2026 season: we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our campers, their families, our staff, and the entire community for the pleasure of working with you all this summer. ❤️

There is nothing quite like seeing returning campers and welcoming new campers each and every summer — and we can’t wait to see everyone again soon!

To our campers: thank you for a tremendous year! We hope you have a fantastic school year ahead and look forward to seeing you all in 2027 for our 35th summer season! 🎉

⚾️Counselor Spotlight: Coach Daniel Leach ⚾️

We’re excited to shine the spotlight on Coach Daniel Leach this week, who is enjoying his first summer working at Bellizzi Baseball Camp! ⚾️

Daniel has been part of the Bellizzi Baseball Camp family since he was just 7 years old, and it has been incredibly rewarding to watch him grow from a camper into the outstanding young coach, mentor, and role model he is today. 🙌⚾️

Heading into his junior year at Bethlehem High School, Daniel is a two-sport varsity athlete, playing baseball and football for Bethlehem. While football is his favorite sport and he takes the field at quarterback, Daniel also played a key role at second base on Bethlehem’s Sectional Championship baseball team this past season! 🏆⚾️

Athletics runs deep in the Leach family, as Daniel’s dad is the head football coach and assistant baseball coach at Bethlehem High School. 🏈⚾️

Beyond the field, Daniel has a genuine passion for working with younger kids. He loves teaching campers how to become better baseball players while also helping them become better teammates, leaders, and people. That positive attitude and willingness to help others have made him a tremendous addition to our counseling staff this summer. 💙⚾️

When he’s not coaching or playing sports, Daniel enjoys watching movies and college football. His favorite MLB team? The Kansas City Royals - just like his Dad! 👑⚾️

We’re incredibly grateful to have Daniel back where it all started—this time as a coach!

One of the greatest parts of our camp is being able to watch legacies continue.

For 34 summers, generations of campers have stepped onto the fields, made memories, built friendships, and carried the tradition forward.

This week, we’re especially excited to welcome Jack Parker (8) — the son of former camper and counselor Paul Parker! 👏⚾️

We’re also thrilled to have Bodie Root (7), Seamus Root (7), and Micah Root (11) joining us — the children of former camper Val (Messina) Root! ❤️

Seeing former campers return as parents and share this experience with their own children is what makes it so special. From one generation to the next, the love of the game lives on. 🧢⚾️

Here’s to 34 years of baseball, friendships, memories, and family! 🙌⚾️

Our 3rd and final week of the summer is underway! ⚾️

Day 1 included some exciting competitions, a few walk-off victories, and an unassisted triple play! 👏

Because we're full, we’re no longer able to accept any walk-up registrations for Week 3.

⚾️☀️ Week 2 is officially in the books! ☀️⚾️

Despite some wild summer weather throughout the week, our campers and staff wrapped up Week 2 with beautiful sunshine, plenty of swimming , and, of course, lots of baseball! ⚾️

This week was certainly memorable—not just because of the rain, but also thanks to an exciting camp-wide Rag Ball Tournament yesterday and an action-packed team relay competition this morning! 🏃‍♂️💨🏆

A huge congratulations to all of our campers for an outstanding week! 👏 We’re especially proud of our Camper of the Week and Most Improved Camper, pictured with Coach Mike! ⭐️⚾️

Congratulations also go out to Coach Alex Halwick for winning the Rag Ball Tournament 🏅 and Coach Jake O’Connor for capturing his second consecutive relay championship, bringing the coveted BODE BAT back home with his team! 🏆

We look forward to returning to the Elm Avenue Town Park in Delmar for our third and final week of summer camp, beginning August 10! ⚾️

⚾️Counselor Spotlight: Coach Owen Turner ⚾

We are thrilled to spotlight Coach Owen Turner, better known around the baseball field as "OT!"

This is Coach Owen's second summer at Bellizzi camp, and he's excited to be back helping campers develop new skills and have fun playing the game he grew up loving as well. A huge New York Yankees and Atlanta Falcons fan: Owen graduated from Bethlehem High School in 2025 and was part of the Eagles team that won the NYSPHSAA Class AA State Title in 2024. He is currently attending SUNY Oneonta, where he is studying Business Management while competing as a pitcher for the baseball team.

It has been a thrill for the staff and campers T camp to follow Owen’s baseball journey; made even better that he gets to share the field both at camp and at college with fellow counselor Coach Alex Halwick, as the two are teammates at Oneonta! Their experience and love for the game make them an incredible duo for our campers to learn from.

When he's not on the baseball field, Coach Owen enjoys spending time with friends and family, landscaping, and staying active. He is thrilled to be back at camp this summer and is looking forward to another unforgettable season filled with learning, laughter, and great memories! ⚾

CAMP IS CANCELED FOR TODAY, JULY 29th due to the Flash Flood Warnings and unsafe travel conditions in our area.

The National Weather Service has issued an “Imminent Threat Alert” and a Flash Flood Warning is in effect. This is a dangerous and life-threatening situation. They advise no attempt should be made to travel. Some roads in the Delmar area have already been closed by the Bethlehem Police Department.

The safety of our campers, families and staff is our top priority.

Please stay safe, and we look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday, July 30th!
