What a week! Thursday the girls team bowled their State Tournament. They qualified great finishing in 4th, however struggled against some really good teams and lost out in their first 2 matches.

Yesterday the boys took the lanes and the result was quite the opposite. They really struggled throughout qualifying ending in 10th. Then came matchplay where they lost their first one in a very competitive match against Washington. After getting sent to the losers backet the boys really caught fire winning 3 straight matches ultimately losing their 4th in a close one against Yankton. Throughout their run they only had 3 sub-200 game out of the 12 games they bowled! They finished the day with a 4th place finish, the highest finish in our programs history!

But that's not even the highlight of the week! Our most meaningful accomplishment of the week was winning the Team Leadership/Spirit Award. This was voted on by our peers and awarded to the team who has shown excellent sportsmanship, character, and leadership within their team and to others in the community.

I can't tell you all how proud I am of our team to win this award! We have spent years cultivating a culture of respect and sportsmanship through our youth program at PINZ, and continuing that work through the high school team and I'm so proud to see that as these kids are growing up, their light is shining and making a difference in some way or another. It means more than any State Title to have such a great group of youth bowlers. Congratulations on an amazing season!!! 👏🏼

The Quarriers bowled their final match of the season this week. The Varsity Boys finished the season strong with a 7-6 record. The JV Boys capped of another successful year with a 10-3 record. And the Varsity Girls finished their year with a record of 8-5.

We also celebrated our graduating seniors, Adaya, Ayden, and Sawyer, this week!

Next up is JV State at Empire on Feb 20th and Varsity State at Brookings on Feb 26th - 27th.
