On e again it’s that time of year that’s upon us to schlep the ski gear to the sacred local shop to have tune ups and fittings, hot waxes & sharpenings, tent sales, & magazines filled with ski films ads arrive in the mailbox; inspiring us to lay tracks and log vertical.
Support your local Ski Shop.
Wether it’s for new equipment or servicing of your current equip. Check your DINS settings (toe & heel) & be sure it’s trail (or off piste/ skin track) ready for the seasons start. You don’t want to be back logged on a long list of last -“minuters”. Remember part of patience is planning.
Keep close eye on seasons passes sales limited time offers as well- the sooner the cheaper & those $’s will have a modest level of return on your ski season upgrades.

Made some (2.5 hrs) worthy turns this Saturday morning. Great weather to be on the snow. Skies were clear, snow firm and a fresh coat of fresh natural and crisp air to breathe.
Loads of strengths to build yet. Turns just beginning to come together.
Race night this Wednesday again ( #3). Placed 3rd in Mens 40 Ski; 8th overall for the second week out of 90+ (M& W). Hope the snow base holds off from going to plain ice.

Great day and season opener with my 3.6 year old. Trails were in good shape. Snow was consistent and the cold was to thank. We made a solid 2 hours worth of turns and retreated for Hot Cocoas and snacks.

Season pass to CBK in the midst for my son & I. Skis awaiting patiently for a tune/wax...I smell snow approaching.

Managed to make it on the trails for race nights the last four Wednesdsy nights. Placing a confident third each of three nights with the most recent placing me at second. I'm excited that it's only $20 to go race two runs one on red course another on blue, while the lift ticket is $5 of that. Racing opens at 5, & you can ski until it closes. It's as American as the Constitution if you asked me. There's also a meal provided with that cost (not meat & potatoes but), so it's a sweet deal.

First tracks of the 2014-15' season. Couldn't have been better morning /midday to go. No crowd and overcast complimented plenty of puffy snow along the fringe of the trails. CBK all the way.

Never updated the last few ski trips. Ah well:/
So went to Shawnee Ski area and then Blue the day after that last week. Both great in the own respects. One has fun, narrow chutes with which to set turn links all the way from top to bottom. The other a more significant terrain with pitches and widths that lend more to a skiers lane changes and speed addiction. Either way I was on snow & had a splendid time.
Heading to Sno Mtn in Scranton/ Wilkes Barre in the morning. Scouting some for the future expansion of CBK. By the likes of my last visit the lower portion has more to offer in steeps, where the upper is gradient & gentle. So i will be leisurely and expertise all in the same run. Happy trails to all you skiing.
