Dave E Disney Tennis Center/Pickleball Expansion & Upgrade
Background
The project involves the transformation and expansion of existing athletic facilities at the David E. Disney Tennis & Pickleball Center in DeLand, Florida. The primary objective is to convert existing pickleball courts into tennis courts while expanding and converting existing tennis courts into new pickleball courts. Additionally, the project includes adding furnishings and amenities. It is overseen by Freese and Nichols, Inc., with a focus on enhancing recreational facilities for the community.
Work Details
The scope of work includes:
1. Conversion of existing pickleball courts into tennis courts.
2. Expansion and conversion of existing tennis courts into new pickleball courts, including furnishings and amenities.
3. Renovation of an existing office building into a Pro Shop with bathrooms.
4. Construction of a new concessions building with bathrooms and a custom shade pavilion.
5. Construction of a pre-engineered metal building with associated utility connections.
6. Site improvements including installation of a stone drainage swale & flume, extensive landscaping and irrigation, synthetic turf, site and sports court lighting, new sidewalks, and a custom gateway feature to enhance beautification and optimize pedestrian flow between the courts and parking areas.
Period of Performance
The contract is expected to be performed over an estimated duration that aligns with the construction schedule, which is anticipated to commence following the completion of necessary approvals and design phases.
Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the David E. Disney Tennis & Pickleball Center located at 816 South Amelia Avenue, DeLand, Florida.
Bidder Requirements
