The Del Riv Executive Board is excited to announce that Pete Barrera has joined our leadership team effective immediately. As you may know, we had several board members resign in the last few weeks-so we had an immediate need to fill the roll in order to continue to operate as an organization. We are excited to welcome Pete on board and thank him for stepping up to help out our youth sports program.
👉About Pete:
My name is Pete Barrera, I’m 33 years old and originally from Corpus Christi, Texas. I have been involved in youth sports for approximately six years, and I’ve seen firsthand the positive impact sports can have on kids, families, and the community.
I joined the United States Air Force in 2019 and have had the privilege of calling New Jersey home for the past several years. I currently reside in Delanco with my beautiful wife and our two children. Being a husband and father has given me an even greater appreciation for the importance of providing our children with positive experiences, strong role models, and opportunities to grow through sports.
Over the past two years, I have had the pleasure of being part of the Del-Riv Sports program, coaching 6th–8th grade boys basketball as well as Babe Ruth baseball. These experiences have allowed me to build relationships with our young athletes and their families while developing a deeper passion for the program and the community it serves.
I am excited for the opportunity to take the next step in my involvement with Del-Riv Sports. My goal is to help build a strong, sustainable program that keeps kids excited to participate, encourages families to get involved, and strengthens the connection between the league and our community. I want to leave a positive and lasting impact—not just for the athletes playing today, but for the generations of kids who will come through this program in the years ahead.
