Tragedy struck the Horn - I have posted on my other pages - there are lots of followers on this page that don’t know - Our livestock barn burned to the ground last night - it was iconic to the ranch build in 1932 was the coolest barn I have ever been in - build in the sheep and goat glory days , there is no telling how many head of livestock have passed thru it 100,000 plus I imagine - before there was electricity it had its own generator which survived. 7 more years it would have been 100 years old and was my favorite part of the whole ranch. What didn’t survive was 2 show lambs, 3 show goats , a brand new zero turn, ranger, 2 of our racing bikes, 2 walking cooler freezers, all of our livestock equipment and lots of antiques unique to the times and the barn . In the ranching business you get real used to death, disease, flood , drought , snow and even fire 🔥 it didn’t hit me til this morning walking around the rubble. If I don’t answer phone calls or respond to text it’s just that the only time I get choked up is when I have to talk about it . The Barn was the heart of the ranch but I am more upset about my Son’s loss of livestock and equipment that. I have had tons of people offer to bring equipment and head this way and help - it is still smoldering and I honestly don’t have the time or energy to deal with it at the moment. When we are ready I will let people know - Thank You for all the prayers and offers to help ❤️ Thank You to the Kinney Co. Fire Department & Sheriff’s Department
