More good news today! Head Coach Ryan Copeland was named the ABCA/ATEC Midwest Region Coach of the Year. Coach Copeland led NIU to a program-record 36 wins and its first MAC title this season, as well as the Huskies' first NCAA Tournament win. NIU set five single-game and season records in 2026.

DeKALB, IL – Senior Cole Smith (Dubuque, Iowa/Bradley) of the Northern Illinois University baseball team was named to College Sports Communicators' Academic All-America Second Team on Tuesday.

Congratulations to Gavin Baldwin, who has signed a professional contract with the Gateway Grizzlies of the Frontier League! Gavin finished his career 3rd on the NIU HR list (32) and 4th in SLG% (.604); His 17 HRs this season are the third-most in a single season in NIU history
