The only self contained, privately owned hockey camp in the entire world, located in the Brainerd Lakes Vacation Land of Minnesota. Heartland Hockey Camp is now in its 40th summer, before his passing in 2022, it was owned and operated by former US Olympian and NHL player Steve Jensen. As a youth hockey player, Steve was an active member of Minnesota Hockey and played college Hockey at Michigan Tec

h., in the WCHA. After an eleven year pro hockey career, with the Minnesota North Stars and the Los Angeles Kings, Steve decided it was time to pursue his dream of coaching. Since 1985, we have dedicated ourselves to providing hockey players with one of the most unique training facilities in the world. The Heartland Hockey Camp encompasses over 80 acres with a state-of-the-art ice arena, mini rink, tennis courts, mini-golf a Sport Court power shooting range, 52 dormitory lodging units, spacious weight-room, hockey pro shop, snack bar, and 1800 feet of beautiful private lakeshore property on Portage Lake . During the past 40+ years, our camp has become an integral part of Cuyuna Country. Located just 15 miles from the Brainerd Regional Airport, the camp is accessible to hockey players world wide via Delta Airlines. Our camp is nestled between two beautiful golf courses, The Lakes Golf Course and Cuyuna Country Club, and we are just minutes away from the Cuyuna Lakes Trail for biking and hiking. Opportunities also abound for boating, fishing, kayaking, diving, camping and bird watching in the Cuyuna Lakes State Recreation Area. Finally the Grand Casino of Mille Lacs is just 18 miles south of our camp. We look forward to the opportunity of providing your family with a positive and rewarding experience.

When we launched the Heartland Helping Hand Campership Program, we hoped to create opportunities for families facing financial barriers to participation. The response has been incredible.

Since applications opened, we've received tremendous interest and have already awarded multiple camperships to deserving campers. Because of that excitement, we're thrilled to announce that EventConnect has joined the program to help us provide even more opportunities.

It’s heating up for the Jensen Cup 🔥

The Jensen Cup is our camp-wide tournament where campers compete within their groups across four events:
• Co****le
• Pickleball
• Spikeball
• Ping Pong

Each game crowns its own Jensen Cup champion, with competition happening all around camp.
