This is what All-American Paddle Co. is really about.
Abby reached out because she wanted to try our Rio paddle, but she had one concern — she has smaller hands, and a lot of paddle grips just don’t feel right for her.
After a few emails, we jumped on a phone call. I learned that Abby is retired, has a master’s in physical education, loves pickleball, and enjoys researching different paddle brands and trying new things.
One of her frustrations was that when she asked other companies about a smaller grip, the answer was basically, “This is what we have.”
That’s where we’re different.
When you order from All-American Paddle Co., you’re dealing with me. I design, build, test, package, sell, ship, and handle customer service myself.
So when Abby told me what she needed, I was able to say, “I can make that for you.”
This video is a time lapse of me building her Rio paddle in my kitchen at 4:30 AM before work, customizing the grip to fit her hands, packing it up, and getting it ready to ship.
I also included one of our new Scout paddles so players in her area can try it and give real feedback.
