Gratitude is something that changed my brain chemistry. I keep a gratitude journal, which I wrote in daily as I pulled myself out of a depression some years ago. Now I write in it on the bad days to help me remember how many good things I have going for me, and on the good days, I'm thinking and speaking aloud about my gratitude.

I am grateful for my yoga practice.
I am so grateful for everyone on this page.
I am grateful for spring blooms 🌼

Gratitude isn’t about pretending life is all good. It’s about noticing the good that still exists, even when everything feels hard.

I'm a big fan of using props in your yoga practice, and my absolute favorite for my practice is the wall.

My first yoga classes I ever taught was in my garage in Spain, where I had a long stretch of empty wall space I could use with my students to help them deepen their practice.

Now my wall space is limited, but I'm trying to incorporate it more, both in class and in my own practice.

This wheel pose is one that I've fallen out of practice with, and the wall is such a great prop to give you somewhere to aim your chest towards, helping to open up the upper back.

What are some of your favorite yoga props?
