Incredible news: the Lighthouse Island capital campaign has hit its Phase One goal of $6M, enabling construction of the new LHI building! Thanks to 329 donors and 14 corporate matches and gifts, we've raised more than $6.1M, surpassing that first milestone.

On September 3, the Lighthouse Island Steering Committee unanimously voted to recommend that both Boards pursue a construction contract. The Boards of Minnetonka Yacht Club and Lake Minnetonka Sailing School will now vote in the coming weeks for final approval.

This is a true testament to what our two communities can accomplish together. Standby for further communication going forward.

Today marked a turning point for Minnetonka Yacht Club. We officially cut the ribbon on the new Bug Island Clubhouse!

This project came to life thanks to three major donors, four additional families who helped carry it across the finish line, and a crew of volunteers who gave it everything. Special thanks to Tara Engebretson for her vision and grit, and Mark Bury for his dedication and sweat. This clubhouse wouldn’t exist without you.

Big things are happening at MYC, and we’re not stopping here. Lighthouse Island is next. Our fundraising effort for a new building on Lighthouse Island is well within reach. MYC has stood for 144 years. Here’s to another century. Pledge or give today at the link in bio.

The golden pond showed off last night — cotton candy skies, rain storms, and a clear night for fireworks right off the island!

Indoors and out, the Fourth was even better celebrated together, even when we are in the clubhouse hiding from the rainstorm.
Greeted with bootlegs and lemonade, America’s 250th birthday was nothing short of commemorative.

Thank you to all volunteers, staff, and pontoon drivers who made the night possible — rain or shine!

Memories are made right here on Lighthouse Island.

The Stars, Stripes & Sails Family Fun Party was everything summer should be—dunk tanks, a DJ, bounce house, pizza, an open bar, time on the water, and time with each other.

Growing up on Lighthouse Island is one of a kind. It’s where traditions are passed down and friendships are made. The night before the Fourth is best spent together. 🍻 🎆

And the best part? Stars, Stripes & Sails continues TOMORROW night, and we can’t wait to do it all again.
And with fireworks right off the island!
