The 2026 ILYA Championship, presented by EntreBank, comes to Minnetonka Yacht Club August 9–15 for one of the most storied sailing events in the nation.
Every summer, the Inland Lake Yachting Association brings together an incredible mix of talent, where Olympians, National and World Champions, and rising America’s Cup sailors race alongside family crews and lifelong friends on the same hull-designs that shaped the sport of sailing in this country.
Since 1898, generations of sailors have returned to reconnect, compete, and build on traditions passed down through families and yacht clubs across the Midwest. Many raced these waters as children and now watch their own kids take the starting line, creating a rare blend of competition and camaraderie.
Combined with the speed and spectacle of scow sailing, the ILYA Championship is unlike anything else in sailboat racing. It’s part world-class competition, part summer reunion, all carried forward by a 128-year legacy.
