These two honker flyers have been out in the elements since November 27, 2025. They've powered through 3 or 4 major storms—including the big one that rolled through on Sunday—and I've only had to replace one wing spar the entire time. Tough birds! 💪

Last day of 2026:
In the sometimes‑pouring rain, three hunters shot 7. Curt said they actually saw a pretty fair number of geese, especially considering the conditions.

This afternoon we pulled the spread, but we let it sit for a while to dry out. Sometime in the next few days I’ll put together a full recap of the season. It was a good one — and if you’ve ever wanted to hunt spring snows, this is a good year to do it. We saw everything from very slow to exceptional, but there was far more average to better hunting than average to worse.

Tomorrow we point north and migrate.
If you’re still hunting, have a safe and successful end to your season.

Feb 28 Spring Snow Goose Hunting Report

A banger of a day to wrap up the second‑to‑last hunt. After a week of slow to average shooting, things finally picked back up. High field finished with 60 snows, low field had 14, and the daily average landed at 40.2 birds per field. Tomorrow is the last day of the season.

Now for the part I wish I didn’t have to write.

We almost made it through another year in 9‑commandment Arkansas, but the thieves struck again. And yes, I know there are supposed to be ten commandments — apparently “Thou shall not steal” doesn’t apply here. I had almost nothing stolen until I started hunting Arkansas, and now every 2–3 years we get hit. I’m pretty sure it’s the same people as before.

If anyone has information on who’s been stealing our equipment, I’d appreciate a heads‑up so the Sheriff can put them exactly where they belong. A lot of you follow these posts — odds are someone out there knows something. Any help is greatly appreciated. Shoot me a message and I will pass it along to the Sheriff.

Sure love our snow goose flyers.

Another foggy morning with very little wind. There was definitely a migration push today, and with similar weather in the forecast, I’d expect another one tomorrow. Our best field shot 40 snows, and our lowest shot 6. The 40‑bird field saw a lot of traffic; the 6‑bird field hardly saw any.

Tomorrow will be the last full‑day hunt for most of the guides. On Sunday we start pulling decoys.
