A quick update for you Reefuel followers:

After a 2+ year hiatus, Laree (Reefuel's founder) has returned to leading public yoga-inspired classes. Located on the third floor of Impact Coffee, Driftless Yoga Center boasts an eight classes throughout the week - lead by Reefuel's founder!

BOLDLY putting the most important pieces of yoga back into practice, you'll notice an equitable mission to the practices in the space - including a suggested $10/class to remove financial barriers from the practice, a louder commitment to support justice organizations and bringing back a radically compassionate community. There is no pre-registration to attend.

Curious about the happenings? Check it out this weekend with a Revival Celebration! Classes Friday and Saturday are FREE to all - along with Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting on Friday. Laree is tapping a toe back into the virtual teaching world. Kicking off tonight with a few end of the week flows & holiday sculpts PLUS: I’m subbing in at Yoke Fitness ! Here’s how to join:

For Friday Flows or holiday sculpts, email Laree at [email protected] the dates you’d like to join and I’ll send zoom links prior to start of class. $12/class or $50 for all five.

Home.

I’ve been craving going home for many months now. Home for me has always been a bit transient. I grew up in Minnesota, but my mom moved to Ohio when I was a teenager. Although, I didn’t “grow up” in her house, I grew up as my mom lived there. The memories of my life are there. As I moved around the Twin Cities through my early adulthood, my stories were heard in her walls. Housed in Ohio are my elementary artwork, prom pictures & my childhood teddy bear. It’s there I crave traveling to when I need to feel rooted.

As Reefuel’s doors close today, I know you didn’t “grow up” here, but your stories of growth live in that space. Even though you didn’t draw a picture, your creativity was housed in the physical movement that occurred within the walls.
We danced to our own beat and found comfort in our fellow ‘fuelers.
•
Things for me are different when I come home now; my mom is less inclined to do my laundry since I turned 30 and we’re much busier with three kids in tow. But the feeling is still the same: This is home.
•
Tomorrow your home studio may look a little different, but the walls are the same. They hold your sweat and perseverance; your tears and your laughter; they’ve witnessed your triumphs and challenges. These walls will continue to be your home - no matter how transient you become. Thanks to Alecia & B. Fit & Studio B those walls will continue to embrace you.

Today I returned to a different home: my mat. For the first time in nearly nine weeks, I practiced a physical practice. My heart was filled with such immense gratitude for those that believed in me from the beginning: instructors who became confidants, members who became like family and family who was always there to push me forward. My mind was cluttered with so many questions about what’s next and who am I now without Reefuel.

For now, I step forward knowing how lucky I am to have had something so wonderful, that filled so many souls with joy and health. Decorah & Reefuel have removed transient from my life. Rooted me in so many ways. Though this page may become a little quieter - know I’ll be cheering loudly for each of you.

🎯 Need we say more?? Reefuel Bingo took on a life of its own early on in its inception ☄️Reefuel Bingo was created as a way to bridge Reefuelers with the community, promote supporting local 🛒 (especially with our Reefuel-owned small businesses) and motivate everyone to keep moving as the leaves started to fall 🍁 It required patience and strategy to play all 31 days of October - striving for a blackout 🎃 What was your favorite memory of Reefuel Bingo? ⚡️Generous beyond measure. Charitable to the greatest degree. 🤝 Over the years we’ve held dozens of donation-based classes to raise money for local non-profits. 💜 From Alzheimer's Association, to Helping Services for Youth & Families; Kadens Kloset to the local food shelf, Reefuel on Tap’s and Reefuel TRIs. So many Reefuelers showed up simply to sweat for the cause. 🌟 Which event and cause was most important to you?

🙏🏼 Collaborations. Proof that a physical space doesn’t make the commUNITY. We always loved our connections with Pulpit Rock Brewing Company that collided with Impact Coffee . Smoothie 🌱 + yoga 🧘🏽‍♂️ + beer 🍻? Yes please! Each installment was an opportunity to connect with our fellow Reefuelers outside of the studio, but also a way to connect with new friends or those visiting the area. 🧡 Pulpit Rock Brewery was a space that provided warmth and familiarity for each event - combined with a delicious Reefuel smoothie, it was an unbeatable combo! Were you a frequent attendee at Reefuel on Tap (aka: BeerAsana)? What was your favorite: beer, yoga or smoothie? 😉

✨CommUNITY✨was felt at Reefuel. Inspiration always in the air. You could always depend on a motivating word from your neighbor. 💪🏼 It became important to everyone to get to know those better... thus Reefueler of the Month was born! This was never a popularity contest; just a simple gesture to drop the name of a Reefueler who motivated you into a jar. 📝 So, one kind word could have created a rippled for someone. For seven years, strangers became friends; acquaintances turned in confidants; friendly conversations into lifelong friendships. 👩‍❤️‍👩 From mothers to couples, college students to entrepreneurs - ROTMs were always shocked 😳 to hear they had been nominated, but that’s no surprise when it comes to humble crew that entered our doors.
