Don't get stuck on the brush. 🎣

Yesterday's crappie were roaming open water in 10 feet of water, not holding on brush piles.

The setup:
• 1/16 oz chartreuse jighead
• 1/2 oz weight above the jig
• Orange Sunrise Dart

Fish with confidence, but stay willing to change where you look. Yesterday, open water was the answer.

A solid weekend. A simple bobber lesson.

Mike Mattingly of MKM Fishing has been making the most of the weekend at Mill Creek. His Saturday report: another shallow-water crappie day, 15 in the live well, then he called it a day.

For your next bobber trip, make depth your first adjustment. Move the float to change how deep your jig hangs while keeping your bait and retrieve the same. One change at a time helps you learn what the fish want.
