Here are some rules that are different from APA 8 Ball.
1. Games cannot be won or lost on the break. 8 on the break the person breaking spots the 8 and continues their turn.
2. If you make the 8 on the break and scratch. Your opponent has the choice of spotting the 8 and having ball in hand anywhere on the table. Or they can have the balls re-racked and they break.
3. A scratch on the 8 is not loss of game. Your opponent gets ball in hand. If you made the 8 and scratched the 8 is spotted and ball in hand for the other player.
4. Early 8 is loss of game. (Making the 8 out of turn after the break) Your opponent, gets 10 points for the win. The player who made the early 8 gets 1 point for each one of their balls that was pocketed.
5. Scoring is 10 points for winning the game. The losing player gets 1 point for each ball of theirs that is pocketed.
6. The table is open after the break no matter which balls are pocketed. The person who broke can shoot stripes or solids. The 1st legally pocketed ball after the break determines who has stripes and solids.
7. NO SLOP, all shots must be called. The shooter must call the ball and which pocket they intend to make the ball in. Combinations, banks, and caroms do not have to be called. Any balls made that are not called stay down.
8. Score keeping is simple. The winner gets 10 points. Their opponent gets 1 point for each one of their balls that were pocketed.
9. Each player plays one game against every player on the opposite team. The players rotate each round.
And best of all you will be finished in a couple of hours, so you get home at a reasonable time. Gone are the final matches starting after 10pm or later. Matches right now are 4 on 4. If we get more players that will be expanded to 5 on 5.
