Have you ever felt completely paralyzed by a decision, or felt a deep sense of unease when trying to plan your next steps? It might not just be decision fatigue—it is often a lack of clarity.
When your core values are undefined, your beautiful brain has to work overtime to weigh every single option. It feels exhausting because your nervous system is desperately looking for direction to feel safe. Without clear values, every choice feels heavy.
But when you know exactly what matters most to you, decisions become quiet. Your body exhales. You no longer have to hustle to figure out what to do next, because your values make the choice for you.
Your Micro-Practice to help you soothe your nervous system and tap into your inner compass today. Pause and Ground: If you are able, sit up straight and plant your feet firmly on the floor. Take a slow, intentional breath in... and let it out. Drop your shoulders away from your ears.
Reflect: Gently bring to mind the core values that define who you are. Ask yourself, "Which of my core values am I feeling most called to honor and let lead the way today?" (Think of enduring values like peace, integrity, connection, or courage).
Speak It: Whatever value comes to mind, say it aloud to engage your mind and body. "Today, I am guided by my value of ______."
Align: Let that single value be your filter for the rest of the day. If a choice or a request doesn't align with it, give yourself permission to gently release it or say no.
