This week the Sycamore Sports Boosters will be donating their 50% split of the pot to the family of Ottawa Assistant Football Coach Nick McLaughlin. Tickets sales are open. Drawing is at halftime of Friday night’s varsity football game. You DO NOT need to be present to win. Let’s show this family and the Ottawa community what looks like!

Congratulations to our August Volunteer of the Month - Allison Yates! Allison will receive a small gift bag at our September 11th football game and her student gets use of the Sports Boosters reserved parking spot, right outside the main entrance of SHS during the school day for the month of September. Want to be our next winner? Just sign up for a volunteer shift in September. We will draw our next winner from all our volunteers between now and the 10/2 Homecoming Football Game.

ADDITIONAL CONCESSION INFO:

We love seeing the discussion on yesterday's post about our concession volunteer needs. A couple of things we would like added to the discussion.

• We are in need for many volunteers still for tomorrow's football opener (8/28). Those assigned teams got a bit of a short notice, so they (and we) could really use the help of our great community.

• You do not need to be a student athlete parent to help out. Students, other family members, friends, community members, and anyone else are all welcome to sign up for ANY shift, even if it is assigned to a specific team. Our teams and Booster Board really appreciate the support.

• With our new $1,000 scholarship we will be awarding staring with the Class of 2027, a volunteer can credit their work toward ANY student. We know there may be kids out there that may like sports, but just don't participate for one reason or another and might like this as another way to be involved, or just like serving their community. This new scholarship can be earned by any student who has the highest annual average of volunteer hours performed for the Sports Boosters. Have a family friend, great kid in the neighborhood, or other student you would like to help out, let them know they are welcome or come volunteer on their behalf!

Spartans, we are still short many volunteers for tomorrow’s FNBO Challenge. The Sycamore Sports Boosters provide over $75,000 to the athletic department annually and our ability to do that is heavily dependent on the success of events like this and volunteers to cover these events. Our student athletes need YOU!

We still have several slots to fill with volunteers for Friday’s FNBO Challenge. Sandwich wrapping and ticket scanning volunteers should all be done working by the varsity kickoff. 50/50 volunteers can work inside the stadium. Let’s make sure the volunteer event staff is more BLACK & GOLD than orange & black! Sign up here: https://www.sycoboosters.com/volunteer/opportunities.php
