DES MOINES — Central DeWitt’s Eli Edfors placed 8th in the Class 2A 132-pound weight class at the State Wrestling Tournament.

Eli lost his quarterfinal match, but bounced back for a victory in the blood round! He will place in the top 8 and competes again tonight and tomorrow morning!

Unfortunately, Cale dropped his last match and finishes the tournament 2-2. We’re still incredibly proud of him and the season he put together! After being injured the first weekend and not competing again until conference week, the way he battled back says everything about his toughness and heart.

For those of you who bought a shirt they can be picked up inside the arena! After you enter the main entrance take an immediate left and you will find Cael Green and Coach Cannon! Across from section 101.

If you are not coming to the arena we will have them back at the school on Monday! Go Sabers!

For those who bought a shirt, we will be handing them out at the Casey’s Center tomorrow!

Coach Cannon will be handing them out from 1:30 to 2:30 at the top of the main entrance stairs. He’ll be right next to where they used to be a stage coach.

If you are not going to the event tomorrow, they will be available to be picked up from the high school on Monday! Thank you for supporting!

Five wrestlers from Central DeWitt, three from Clinton, one apiece from Camanche and Northeast qualified on Saturday for the 2026 State Traditional Tournament that begins Wednesday in the Casey's Center,
