Those of you who are in the age bracket of 18-20, and interested in getting your License to Carry, may now do so. A federal judge ruled that Texas DPS can no longer restrict folks 18-20 from getting their license. So, if you’d like to take the class, give me a call and we can set up something. 903-276-4327.

Since the passage of Constitutional Carry in Texas, we hit pause on our public LTC classes. We are now offering smaller, private classes for couples, and small groups of up to 5, who still want their LTC. These can be held weekdays, or Saturdays on dates that fit your schedule. Contact us at 903-276-4327 and we can work out the details.

Why would a person want an LTC in a CC state?
1. To be able to carry in other states that have reciprocity with Texas.
2. To be able to purchase fi****ms without a background check.
3. To be fully informed on such issues as carry laws, self-defense, force and deadly force, readily dischargeable fi****ms and children, and to be certified in shooting proficiency by a qualified instructor.
4. To avoid unnecessary delays when encountering law enforcement.

Retired law enforcement officers: SB 198 now allows LTC instructors to conduct your demonstration of weapons proficiency. If you need this, give me a call at 903-276-4327. I can do it at your convenience for $45.00.

Constitutional Carry is now law in Texas, so the LTC class is no longer required in order for you to be legal to carry your handgun. That’s great, however, you MAY still want to get your LTC because:
1. You will be able to carry legally in all of the 31 other states with whom Texas has reciprocity.
2. You can avoid the background check when you purchase a firearm.
3. You can avoid being detained by law enforcement if you are stopped, because your LTC verifies you are not a felon, and no check is necessary.
4. You will be taught Texas law as it pertains to carrying a handgun, including topics such as: locations where you cannot carry even with a license, force and deadly force, self-defense, effective notice, readily dischargeable fi****ms, and issues involved when interacting with law enforcement.
If you decide that you want your LTC, give us a call. We will schedule a large public class when we have enough folks on our list, PLUS we can schedule small private classes of 2-4 people pretty much at your convenience. Contact us at 903-276-4327.

With the bill regarding Constitutional Carry now on Abbott’s desk waiting for his signature, a lot of folks are waiting to see if it actually gets signed before they decide about the License to Carry class. My thought is that he WILL sign it, but I am told it won’t go into effect until September. That said, I have not scheduled a public class for June, and will not for July or August either, unless I am contacted by a sufficient number of people who want the LTC class.

I will offer small, private classes for 2-4 people if folks want them. Contact me if you do, and we can set up a class and confirm a date.
