As we get closer to the start of the season, I want to take a moment to recognize that this will be our first year without Frank Gorgone. Frank was an outstanding Umpire-in-Chief, and he will truly be missed. As we move forward, there may be some minor mishaps or issues along the way, but that’s part of the process, and we’ll work through them together as a group—just as Frank would have wanted. Everyone say a big Hello to our New Umpire in Chief Pete McGrath for filling some big shoes.

It’s hard to believe we are already this close to a new season. I’m really looking forward to getting back behind the plate for another year and seeing everyone out on the field.

Let’s support each other, keep things moving forward, and have a great season, everyone.

Tri-County Umpire Group (T.U.G.) is proud to be entering our 36th year of service to local baseball and softball communities. Since our founding in 1990, we have grown into one of the most respected and reliable umpire organizations in the region.

What began with just six umpires covering Aston Middletown Little League in Aston, Pennsylvania, has evolved into a robust organization of over 100 members, ranging in age from 16 to 72, serving 46 local leagues throughout the area. This growth reflects our commitment to quality officiating, professionalism, and dedication to the game.

The organization was founded by Frank Gorgone, Umpire-in-Chief, whose leadership, dedication, and love for officiating built the foundation of Tri-County Umpire Group. In memory of Frank Gorgone, we are working together to honor and continue the legacy he built—ensuring that Tri-County continues to grow stronger, more professional, and more unified each season.

Tri-County Umpires officiate Baseball and Softball games for ages 8 through adult, including:
• Little League Baseball & Softball
• Babe Ruth
• PIAA High School
• ASA Softball
• American Legion
• Independent Leagues

Our umpires receive ongoing training in rules, mechanics, positioning, and game management to ensure consistency, fairness, and professionalism on every field.

Each year, we offer training clinics and development programs designed to educate and mentor both new and experienced umpires, helping them refine their skills and deepen their understanding of the game.

Tri-County Umpire Group is an inclusive organization—both men and women are welcome to join—and we take pride in being a well-structured, supportive, and community-driven group.

We look forward to continuing our tradition of excellence in officiating for many years to come.
