MOTIVATION MONDAY

Every single day is a fresh shot to outgrow the version of yourself from yesterday.

But too often, we walk into the gym, look at someone who’s been grinding for a decade, and decide we’re failing before we even start. We forget a simple truth: That person had a Day 1, too. They just chose to stack small wins, day after day, until it turned into years.
So why do we play this game? Why do we crush 10 positive habits but spend all our energy obsessing over the one thing that didn’t go perfectly?

I saw this with a client recently. They were struggling to make it through the gym doors and felt like they completely blew it. But while they were stressing about missed workouts, their nutrition was absolutely dialed in .They stayed mindful of what went into their body and ended up losing weight.
They thought they failed because they missed the gym. In reality? They won 10 other battles they didn’t even realize they were fighting.
Change your mind, change your life.

Check out Diane DePew progression and fitness journey

Diane recently got her first pull up ever along with three chin ups as well ! Big time !! She has come such a long way in all her lifts since 2024 especially her deadlift, back squat and power cleans !

She sets goals in and out of the gym and conquers them .

🚨Transformatiom Tuesday 🚨

Check out story and fitness journey !

I played basketball from the age of six through high school, and was then lucky enough to play in college for Penn State Brandywine. Since then, I’ve missed the comradery of being part of a team and working together towards something as a group.
Being a part of the Sonic Boom family has given me that feeling back. It has given me an outlet for my mental health and provided a way for me to be able to take care of and better myself, both spiritually and physically.
I started working out with Vito in 2021 and the sessions evolved from personal training to eventually working with a team. I noticed a group of girls that showed up every morning at 5 AM around the same time that I would show up for the training sessions. I had used to always be intimidated to try more classes because I initially thought that I wouldn’t be able to keep up.
I thought that all of the classes within the fitness community were extremely intense but I learned that others are willing to meet you where you’re at in any given moment. There are ways to modify anything to fit individuals. If there is an exercise that one isn’t able to do, it doesn’t mean that it will be that way forever.
I’ve developed many important bonds and friendships through the gym and have also connected with other people from my past that have gotten into fitness as well. I’m extremely proud of myself and the progress that I’ve made. I never thought that I would be doing the things that I am today. And that is thanks to Vito Russo and the team at SB.

The hardest part is showing up! But once you’re there , That’s where the magic happens! You can build momentum towards your fitness goals

The secret to getting ahead is simply getting started .

Whether it’s a 15 minute walk or a heavy lifting day just show up for yourself today. You’ll never regret the workout you actually did.

The scale only tells part of the story. 📉

In your fitness journey, it isn’t just about the number. it’s about the progress you’re making in every other area of your life. If you’re only tracking weight, you’re missing the big picture.

Here are some other forms of data that prove you’re headed in the right direction.

1️⃣ Strength Gains: Are you lifting heavier, performing more reps, or finally hitting that movement you couldn’t do last month?

2️⃣ Energy Levels: Do you feel more alert throughout the day? Are you crashing less in the afternoon?

3️⃣ Clothes Fir Better How do your jeans feel? Body composition (losing fat/gaining muscle) often changes your shape before it changes your weight.

4️⃣ Recovery & Sleep: Are you waking up refreshed? Is your heart rate returning to normal faster after a tough set?

5️⃣ Consistency: Showing up when you don’t want to is a massive win. Mental toughness is a metric, too.

Stop letting a metal box define your worth. Look at the work, look at the performance, and look at how you feel.

🚀 Focus on the Basics for Real Results
In the world of fitness influencers, you’ll often see flashy, complicated exercises that look impressive but aren’t necessary for most people.

The truth is, you don’t need fancy movements to transform your body. Stick to the fundamentals and you’ll build strength, improve your physique, and stay injury free for the long term.

Train around these key movement patterns:

✅ Knee Dominant – Squats, lunges, leg extensions
✅ Hinge – Deadlifts, Romanian deadlifts, hip thrusts, glute bridges, good mornings
✅ Push – Bench press, incline bench, overhead press, push-ups
✅ Pull – Dumbbell rows, chest-supported rows, pull-ups, chin-ups, ring rows
✅ Heavy Carries – Farmer’s walks, suitcase carries, front rack carries, sandbag carries
Then add some core work and conditioning (sprints, biking, rowing, skiing, or sled pushes) and you have everything you need.

When paired with proper nutrition, hydration, and quality sleep, these basics will deliver the results you’re after — no gimmicks required.
