Proud to say my most influential instructors come directly from this lineage. 

Sensei Chuck Merriman commenting about Sensei Peter G. Urban : "Chuck Merriman : They threw the mold away after he was made! So many owe so much to this Sensei. My teacher Sensei Chris DeBaise took me to Sensei Urban in the early 60s and asked, as a favor to him, to take me into the Dojo for training. Sensei DeBaise was going to stop teaching for a while (another story for another time). Sensei Urban agreed but said I needed some "polishing" Too rough around the edges! He put me under the the watchful eye of Sensei Frank Ruiz who would be responsible for me. I answered to Sensei Frank who in turn answered to Sensei Urban for my actions. I guess you can fill in the rest from there. If correction in my attitude or actions in the Dojo was required, the remedy certainly never subtle! I really miss him and those days."
