DW Track and Field home meet!
Our sub-district meet is in Dayton at 3:30 tomorrow (May 9). And it's out first opportunity to use the new hurdles we got on March 12th, 2020! The list of athletes' entries is linked below.

Lots of great competition, with the top athletes moving on to Districts on the 18th. The weather should be great, and if you'd like a front-row seat, you could help with an event.

(Note: We ask all non-competitors to remain outside the track.)

I wish I'd taken pictures, but was too busy clapping and shouting encouragement (full disclosure: some of that was to stay warm!). Watched our track athletes push hard through several reps in rain, snow, sleet and cold with a little wind for added character building. They got a great endurance stimulus after a good speed stimulus yesterday. Tomorrow it'll be strength, then some recovery and competition Friday.

I need someone with a metal detector to help us find the last anchor hole for the discus net at the track. If you go to the track, you'll see that there are five poles up around the discus ring, but there should be six. The last one is out in the grass on the side toward the bathrooms. It should be about the same distance out as the distance between the other poles, and following the general U shape. It's been quite a while since we had the net up, and the dirt and grass have covered it up.

If you find it, a) please mark it with some spray paint, and b) let me (Dan Nechodom) know so I can tell others it's been found.

Results are usually posted online at athletic.net by the evening of the meet. A few meets actually post them live, but that's not common.

IMPORTANT:
I'd really like each athlete, and at least one parent, to be signed up on remind.com. That's the easiest way for me to communicate. I want athletes on there so I can remind them about workout or meet preparation (bring some warm clothes and some water!), and I'd like parents on so I can give information about meets and be available in case there are questions.

Easiest way: Text to 81010.

IMPORTANTER:
If you'll be eligible for Friday's meet, but will miss practice tomorrow, send a list of which events you want to do on Friday.
