We highly encourage all SDSD students to attend summer classes, camps, and intensives. Without the stress of academic school, your dancers are more focused, less tired, and therefore can make a huge amount of progress in a small amount of time. So, if your child is on the cusp of being ready to move to the next level, summer classes may be just the thing to propel them forward! Summer classes can help our students maintain their skills, continue to improve and to build on all the hard work they put in during the year. We offer two 2-week Summer Sessions; one in June and one in July to help fit into busy summers schedules. Classes meet twice weekly on either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday.
Our themed Beginner & Intermediate Camps offer 4 days of dancing, crafts, and fun! The week concludes with an informal costumed performance of ballet, jazz, and tap choreography learned throughout the week! Each camp is offered in June and July with different themes!
Our Pre-Professional Summer Intensive offers aspiring dancers an immersive experience designed to unlock their full potential. Over the course of four weeks, students immerse themselves in a pre-professional company environment, where they engage in full days of dance, guided by expert guest faculty and surrounded by a community of like-minded peers. The intensive’s well-rounded curriculum enhances students’ technical skills and broadens their knowledge with classes in various dance styles and subjects, fostering the versatility needed for today’s dynamic dance industry. Additionally, SDSD’s Pre-Professional Summer Intensive places a strong emphasis on nurturing students as artists, providing them with the opportunity to work on challenging repertoire and receive personalized coaching from distinguished guest faculty, along with guidance from SDSD’s leadership. Attend any or all 4 weeks!
**SDDT members & SDSD students placed in Ballet 4+ are automatically accepted without audition. Dancers from other studios, please contact us for a short placement audition!
