Why BCMAA? 🦁

“BCMAA is an excellent program to teach college students how to be empowered through self defense and martial arts athletics while training them to be leaders and peacemakers. As someone who has trained in martial arts the past nine years, the BCMAA has allowed me to continue to grow in athletic ability, character and community.”

Chloe Lyles | BCMAA Captain | JESSIE THORNTON'S UNITED KARATE STUDIO

Chloe is one of our captains, who has grown in her leadership during her time at Bryan. Coming in with an extensive background in fighting under Jessie Thorton, she has elevated this team athletically and her leadership has unified this diverse group of students. She has now earned her brown belt in Isshinryu Karate, adding onto her previous knowledge from The United Karate Studios.

We are looking for other passionate students like Chloe who would be interested in pursuing leadership development through martial arts during their time at college. Athletics scholarships are available to students with or without experience.

Why BCMAA?🦁

“BCMAA is a truly unique program. All the teachers genuinely care about each of the students and want to see them grow. Christ is the cornerstone of the program, and everyone involved does their best to both strive for excellence in the craft and build each other up to better serve Him.”

- Sienna Halverson | BCMAA Member | Criminal Psychology Student

Sienna is one of many who came in with no experience, and has now earned her brown belt in Isshinryu Karate. As she steps into the criminal psychology world, the skills she develops in this program will help her to be an active peacemaker.

If you are interested in entering the Criminal Justice field, and want to get a leg up in the world of self defense, our program is designed to help students do so. We have athletic scholarships available to students with no prior experience and they will have the opportunity to work toward a black belt in Isshinryu Karate.

COLLEGIATE MARTIAL ARTS🦁

BCMAA is a collegiate martial arts team here at Bryan College, offering scholarships for students who want to continue or even begin their training while earning a four year degree. Our students come from all different martial arts backgrounds, including those with no prior experience.

The core of what we do is leadership development from a Biblical perspective. We use martial arts to develop leaders who are rooted in their faith, resilient in the pursuit of excellence, and use their leadership to serve and build up others.

Our base style is Isshinryu Karate, while also incorporating kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to create a holistic fighter from the ground up. As part of the team, students are equipped to train and compete, with gear, tournament entry, and travel included.

If you know a student who might be interested, reach out to us at [email protected] or text us at 423-567-1922. We would love to connect and see if this could be a good fit for them.
