Dayton Demo Derby Past, Present and Future

I’ve been getting a lot of questions to the page about the June derby in Dayton. I apologize to everyone expecting and anticipating our show but there will not be a CrashMania demo derby this June. Unfortunately, I was informed by text a few weeks ago that after almost 20 years of sold out shows and supporting the derby since it started in the late 90’s, we were no longer needed this June for their derby and they didn’t give me much explanation beyond that. We will be back in September for the Columbia County Fair Demo Derby and info on that will come out in July. Until I’m able to get all the info for that together and posted, this page will be inactive.

NEW 2022 RULES ARE NOW AVAILABLE!!!!!! CLICK THE LINK AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST

These rules will be used for the BIG CAR CLASS in DAYTON ON JUNE 18 and SEPT 10 as well as TRI CITIES ON AUGUST 20.

We have decided to run ONE RULE SET so OLD IRON and METRIC WILL RUN TOGETHER. We have adopted a "pick em" style rule set where we've moved many of the additional aftermarket parts or build techniques that go beyond a "stock" show to a list at the bottom of the rule sheet. Each builder will be able to choose which options they want to take advantage of. OLD IRON WILL GET 3 CHOICES AND METRIC WILL GET 5. This is a big change from last year and we get it but 90% of last years cars would still be eligible under these rules and the other 10% may only have to change one or two things.

This year's series will only consist of the 2 Dayton shows, and Tri Cities with the possible addition of Walla Walla again but I have not been in touch about that yet. The points will still be counted and the top drivers in the series will receive various derby prizes to be announced ASAP.

I apologize for these rules not being posted sooner. I'm sure some of you will not like these and that's ok but if you want to run a big car in Dayton or Tri-Cities, here is what we are doing:

AT THE TIME OF TECH INSPECTION, THE DRIVER MUST INDICATE WHICH 3, OR 5, OF THE 18 OPTIONS THEY INTEND TO USE ON THE TECH SHEET. IF ADDITIONAL OPTIONS ARE FOUND DURING INSPECTION, THE DRIVER MUST AGREE TO REMOVE ITEMS TO PASS INSPECTION

Quick update:
Dayton in June will run 80s class, same rules as tri-cities, I'll verify with Dan that nothing is changing and then get the link posted.
Small cars and trucks will run together again.
Payout will be split according to car count. We have $3500 to pay so we'll take the total car count and divide it by the number of cars/trucks in each derby. Higher car count means higher pay. Each derby will pay 1st-3rd and mad dog. I'll probably let drivers vote on how to split that at the drivers meeting again.

The CrashMania series will happen again but will probably only include Dayton x2, Tri-Cities and Walla Walla Fair.

I'll share info as I get it.

Derby tonight at 5:00!!!
Just have to buy a fair pass to get in. Please Message the fair about questions for fans in the stands. We only handle the pit’s side of things.
