We didn’t get where we are all by ourself. It was because of people who payed it forward over the years and still today.
We are a firm believer in paying it forward as often as we can.
Behind every great community, there is a network of incredible humans working behind the scenes to make the magic happen. Today, we want to shine a massive spotlight on one of those humans: Charlie, the "Head Tot" over at Taiters Kayak !
From day one, Charlie hasn’t just been a partner; he has been one of Hope Wanders’ biggest fans and loudest cheerleaders. When we launched our fundraising kayak trips to help build a more inclusive, supportive outdoor community, Charlie didn’t just offer to help—he loaded up his trailers and went all in.
Running a small business is a beautiful, chaotic hustle. But running a seasonal outdoor small business? That takes a whole different level of grit. Charlie operates within a razor-thin window each year, squeezing a year's worth of passion, safety coordination, and hard work into a few short months of Ohio summer.
Without Charlie and the incredible resources he provides—the boats, the safety gear, the seamless transportation, and his endless expertise—our fundraising paddles simply wouldn't happen. He helps us lower the barrier to entry so everyone can experience the magic of the river.
Small businesses like Taiters Kayak are the absolute heartbeat of our local outdoor community. They put skin in the game to support non-profits, community groups, and grassroots movements like ours.
