Rich Mountain last week Dawson Forest this week. These mountains are a challenge but I love it and I am in my element , wouldn’t have it any other way. Deer are not as plentiful and way harder to hunt. These old mountain bucks can’t be fooled and to kill one and bring it home is extremely difficult. Challenge accepted!
Last photo my son took. 40 degrees stripped down to my t shirt after almost an hour hump up the mountain through a laurel thicket to get to the saddle of the mountain. Good times!

Snuck off to the range this morning.
I am amazed at these 2 rifles. Yes the Lords Round 30-06. The old Crusty 760 was made in 1971.
I had the barrel cut down from 22” to 18.5” and recrowned. Period correct Redfield 2-7X32 sitting
in a Redfield Quick Switch mount.
The other one is a Factory 760 Carbine made in 1978.
Redfield Tracker 3-9x40 sitting in a Weaver Pivot mount. They both love the Sig 150 gr. Solid Copper Ammo. 100 yards off a bag. Time for some deer meat.
