Big Shout to our very own 8th grade distance king Matthew Lauderbaugh at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals in Pennsylvania this morning! Matthew ran a solid 10:38.15 for the 2 Mile Race! He finished 72nd out of 113 competing athletes from around the country. On to High School for Matthew!

Great finish to the 2025 Davison Middle School Track Season at the Mid-Michigan Mega-Star Meet! This is our middle school "State" Meet that athletes had to qualify in events for individually.

Below is a recap of the great things our student/athletes did on the track! Top 8 Places Scored and received Medals. Top 3 relays received medals!

The Boys Team finished the season 7th (25 pts) out of 49 Teams in the Large School Division comprised of close to 100 total teams from around the state!

55m Hurdles - Pierce Wilson (8.78) (3rd Place) NEW SCHOOL RECORD!
100m Dash - Carter Knopf (11.93) (4th Place)
4x200m Relay - Stephon Hendrix, Jr., Trayvion Young, Gage Fargo, Carter Knopf (1:39.85) (4th Place)
4x100m Relay - Xander Byers, Trayvion Young, Joseph Cecchini, Stephon Hendrix, Jr. (46.98) (3rd Place)
70m Dash - Trayvion Young (8.97), Joseph Cecchini (8.99)
200m Hurdles - Pierce Wilson (28.61) NEW SCHOOL RECORD!
3200m Run - Matthew Lauderbaugh (10:23.21) (8th Place) NEW SCHOOL RECORD!
Shot Put - William Wright (38' 05.5")
High Jump - Gage Fargo (5' 06.0") (8th Place)
Long Jump - Xander Byers (17' 10.25") (8th Place)

The Girls Team finished 16th (16 pts) out of 42 Scoring Teams in the Large School Division!

4x200m Relay - Averi Diamond, Laylah Bowman, Brinley Natzke, Layla Lee (1:52.47) (3rd Place) NEW SCHOOL RECORD!
4x100m Relay - Averi Diamond, Laylah Bowman, Brinley Natzke, Layla Lee (53.79) (6th Place) NEW SCHOOL RECORD!
70m Dash - Avery Diamond (10.01), Layla Lee (10.02)
200m Hurdles - Paige Prill (32.97)
High Jump - Paige Prill (4' 08.0") (3rd Place)

Atheletes that qualified but did not compete: Leah Hensley, Alexa Bennett, and Aiden Velez.

We had a great day and what a reward for these athletes! Many of these athletes qualified in several events! Overall there were 17 athletes qualifying across 12 of the 17 events! All of the athletes but one were 8th graders! Layla Lee is the lone 6th grader!

No doubt we will be reloading for next year!

Congrats to our 2024 Megastar Middle School Qualifiers! We qualified 24 athletes in 13 Different Events! We saw a lot of great performances and definitely have a shot to win some events of with over 60+ middle schools attending next week! Stay tuned!

At the End of the season is the Michigan MEGASTAR Championship that athletes have to meet qualification standards in order to be invited. After our first meet we had several athletes and Relays Qualify already!
