Milestone Fitness, LLC Personal trainer and group fitness instructor offering outdoor and virtual classes, plus recordings. I have been working in the fitness industry since 2004.

My name is Lauren Bell and I am the owner of Milestone Fitness, LLC in Davisburg. I have a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Health Science in addition to a Personal Training certification through the American Council on Exercise (ACE). Aside from a few years managing at commercial gyms and teaching at local studios, most of my experience, prior to 2021, has been corporate fitness within the autom

otive industry. I can teach a variety of classes including cycle, INSANITY®, fitness yoga, strength training, circuit training, Tabata and high intensity interval training (HIIT). During the warmer months, I host outdoor fitness classes at Indian Springs Metropark and Independence Oaks County Park. Since 2020, I have also been including virtual class options in my weekly offerings. In addition, I offer in-home and virtual personal training for individuals and small groups. My goal is to provide my clients and participants with the variety to keep them interested, the motivation to endure challenges, and some level of enjoyment to increase their overall exercise consistency.

This feels like amazing news!!! After watching an ACE (American Council on Exercise) webinar this afternoon about "Coaching Older Adults to Prevent Dementia," I thought this was a VERY interesting (and promising) statistic. We actually have some control of our cognitive function as we age 🧠 According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, we should be physically active on a regular basis 🤸 prevent or manage diabetes 🥗 maintain a healthy blood pressure ❤️ prevent or correct hearing loss 👂and limit (or avoid) alcohol and smoking 🍺🚭

As you know, I am more than happy to help with the physical activity portion, which will then help control both diabetes and blood pressure ☑️☑️☑️

After this morning's HIIT & Flow class (including three rounds of INSANITY) 🥵 I figured that I should highlight some of the added benefits of including plyometrics in your weekly workouts. For those who already have a solid exercise base, great form and healthy joints, even a small dose of multi-directional jumping can improve so many aspects of your health and fitness. The elevated heart rate that often comes along with it provides a great cardiovascular challenge too!

Looking to add more consistency to your summer fitness routine? ☀ Consider adding one (or both) of my Outdoor Circuit Training classes to your calendar EVERY week through October 30th. When your workouts become a scheduled part of your week, you no longer have to decide whether you "feel like" exercising. . . You just show up and make it happen (with a little extra motivation and planning from yours truly).

As an added bonus, Mother Nature (or my vacation schedule) may occasionally provide you with a surprise evening off. If all goes as planned, you may even get to the point where you still do something active on your own when class is cancelled (my goal for you) 🤩

Obviously, I would never discourage anyone from aiming for 10,000 steps per day and above. . . But this is a pretty impressive list of benefits for walking only 7,000 steps per day. Our Step Challenge ended just three months ago and we had plenty of people far above and below this target. How do you compare to this new, more realistic, goal? There's a good chance that your beautiful weather summer steps naturally look a little more significant than your frozen midwinter steps.
