Sporting Clays lost one of its greatest boosters with the death of Gail Schiefelbein.
Gail was a great help for Andrew and I when we took over Upland Hunt Club.
I remember Andrew calling me early on, saying some guy is here and wants to help us work on our throwers.
I answered Andrew and asked if he wanted a job, sell us new machines or parts?
No, Gail just wanted to help out a couple of guys that were trying to make the best of a club they acquired with minimal experience.
As time went by Gail helped us in multiple ways, lending both tools and knowledge gained by a lifelong passion for helping the shooting sports.
His son Aaron always enjoyed running their GSP’s, Sig and Seven, up and down the driveway and after wearing them out they were ready for a trip around the clays course.
Gail was the epitome of a sportsman and a booster of the shooting sports.
