At Kido, basketball looks a little different.

Everything is built around size, pace, and skill level, wherever kids actually are. The wins are individual, not competitive, and every one of them gets to feel what it's like to make their hands and eyes work together.

That feeling builds confidence that goes way beyond basketball!

Ever catch your little one walking around on their tippy toes? ๐Ÿฆถ
In our South Florida Kidokinetics classes, we have kids do it on purpose, and thereโ€™s a real reason why. Walking on tip-toes fires up the muscles in the feet, ankles, and calves while challenging balance and core stability. Thatโ€™s the same strength kids lean on to climb stairs, stand on one foot, and sit up tall at a desk. Bonus: it sharpens body awareness knowing where their body is in space without looking.
Watch me break it down ๐Ÿ‘† then try it at home: see how far your kiddo can tip-toe across the living room. Tag us if you give it a go!

Can you dribble without looking at your hands?

Every time a child dribbles a basketball without looking, something remarkable is happening. Their brain is learning to process visual information, spatial position, and rhythm simultaneously. That's the kind of coordination that doesn't just make a better basketball player. It makes a more focused, capable mover in every area of life!

๐Ÿป Exercise of the Week: the Bear Crawl
Here's one you can try at home this weekend. Get on all fours, lift your knees just off the floor, hips up, and crawl forward moving opposite arm and opposite leg together.
Looks simple. Does a LOT. The bear crawl builds core strength, shoulder stability, and the big one cross-body coordination, where both sides of the brain start talking to each other. That same skill is what later helps kids with reading, writing, and focus.
It's a favorite in our classes because the kids think it's a game.
We know it's brain-building. ๐Ÿง
Give it a try this weekend and tag us we want to see your little bears! ๐Ÿพ

No score. No sideline stress. Just kids figuring out how to move.

A Kido soccer class isn't about getting good at soccer. It's about getting good at moving. Coaches guide kids through dribbling, stopping, and changing direction in ways that feel like games, not drills. The footwork builds balance. The chasing builds agility. The whole thing builds confidence!

Coordination isn't something kids either have or don't.
It's built over time, rep by rep, sport by sport, through every new movement they try.
The more variety early on, the stronger the foundation becomes!

Then and now. ๐Ÿ’›
That little one peeking out of the tunnel? That's Danielle and she's been around Kidokinetics her whole life, growing up alongside her mom Kristin, climbing, crawling, balancing, and building confidence right next to our littlest Kido Kids.
Fast-forward to today: she's wearing the same logo she wore as a kid except now it's on a coach's shirt. The girl who grew up moving with us is now the one helping South Florida kids find their own confidence.
In Danielle's words: "I've been around Kidokinetics my whole life. My favorite sport to coach is a toss-up between volleyball and tennis. I played volleyball in school, but there's something really fun about teaching kids a sport like tennis."
This is what we mean when we say Kidokinetics is for life. Some kids don't just remember it they grow up and come back to lead it. ๐ŸŒŸ
Welcome to the team, Danielle. We've loved watching you grow up. ๐Ÿ‘

Your kid doesn't need to love soccer. They just need to try it.

Every dribble, every missed kick, every scramble after a rolling ball is the brain and body building something real. Research shows soccer-specific play in early childhood develops coordination and spatial awareness at rates higher than most single-sport alternatives.

The sport doesn't have to stick but the skills always will.

06/04/2026

Our founder Terri can confirm that the kids who try everything early are always the ones who stick with it.

Variety in movement isn't just more fun, it's what developing bodies actually need to build coordination, confidence, and a real love of being active.

06/01/2026

Your kid could try a different sport every week for a year and still not run out!

And according to researchers, that variety is exactly what developing bodies need. Every new sport builds a slightly different movement pathway. Over time, those pathways add up to coordination, confidence, and a child who feels at home in their own body.
