Mark your calendars for an exciting bicycle themed art exhibition at Quad City Arts from June 26-August 7. The opening reception will be Friday 6/26 from 6-8:00 at Quad City Arts in downtown Rock Island.
The next morning there will be two rides offered: Group D ride from Schwiebert Park at 8:00 hosted by Ken Urban. At 9:00, QC Arts gallery manager Dawn Wolford-Metallo will lead a nine-mile art tour stopping at the several new sculpture installations are located along the trails. Both groups will meet back at the QC Arts gallery at around 11:30 to view the exhibition and have some light refreshments.
Exhibition features a collection of photographs taken by Ken Urban while gravel riding seeking out “Level B” minimum maintenance roads in all 99 Iowa counties. Photographs are presented on various media, many on handcrafted wooden frames.
Springfield, IL painter and cyclist Jeff Williams is the other featured artist. His colorful works include all aspects of cycling, often down to closeups of various components.
Wright Cycles will be topping off the show by sharing some vintage bicycles from his collection.
