Noroton Yacht Club Founded in 1928, Noroton Yacht Club is dedicated to promoting family participation in sailboat racing The Club has a rich heritage of one-design racing.

Noroton Yacht Club, founded in 1928, is dedicated to promoting family participation in sailboat racing and recreational sailing. The Club is located in the Darien Harbor, just West of Long Neck Point, with easy access to Long Island Sound. Noroton's members are currently sailing Sonars, Vipers, Ideal 18s, JY15s, and Sunfish. In addition the Club has a fleet of over 50 Cruising boats. Our boats par

ticipate in Club races as well as other local, regional, national and off-shore distance racing and cruising events. The Club owns six Ideal 18's and 3 Sonars for the use of all members. Noroton also has a large, respected and well organized junior sailing program for ages from 8 to 18, member and non-member children sailing Optimists, Pixels, Lasers and C420's. Noroton hosts the Darien High School Sailing Team in the Spring and Fall, as well as LISOT on occasion.

This past weekend we were proud to host the first-ever LI Sound Championship - Part One.

We welcomed 45 boats from across Long Island Sound, Newport, and Minnesota - which included junior sailors, collegiate racers, masters and grand masters - highlighting what makes the Melges 15 class so special and accessible.

While Saturday racing was canceled due to high winds, Sunday delivered a spectacular, action packed day.

We’re excited to host our first Melges 15 regatta this weekend - with 45 boats registered and close to 100 competitors 😎

We’re also excited to showcase some new race management technology, including full Vakaros RaceSense integration for the fleet. In addition, American Yacht Club has generously lent us a MarkSetBot robotic mark system to try out.
