What a way to close out May! ⛈️ 🚴♀️💨
The weekend started with a fantastic turnout and glorious weather for our Friday Women’s Shop Ride. Good company, great miles, and a reminder of what makes this community so special.
As has become tradition this spring, the weather had other plans for the rest of the weekend. Conditions turned quickly, feeling much more like March than May. Thankfully, Racing Battenkill had already prepared us to embrace the cold, wind, and rain.
On Saturday, Kate and Megan served as domestiques for the Hyannis Port Best Buddies Challenge, spending hours in challenging conditions helping riders reach the finish line. The weather was relentless, but the smiles and gratitude from participants made it worthwhile.
Meanwhile, halfway across the country, Chelsea and Denise took on the legendary UNBOUND 200 in Kansas. If the conditions in New England were tough, Kansas somehow managed to be even tougher. Neither the weather nor the competition could stop our gravel warriors, with BOTH riders winning their age categories and finishing in the overall Top 10! An incredible performance on one of the sport’s biggest stages. 🏆 🏆
By Sunday, the skies finally cleared in Connecticut, and Megan, Kate, Mik, and Alex headed to the Lime Rock Grand Prix. The team delivered another strong day of racing:
🥉 Mik – 3rd in her category
🥈 Megan – 2nd in her category
👏 Alex and Kate both earned valuable upgrade points in their respective fields
From community rides to charity events to national-level gravel racing and local criteriums, this team continues to show up, support one another, and race hard.
Happy June! ☀️
