Congratulations to our teams that competed at the Grip It & Rip It Tournament and Lineman Challenge this weekend. It was a great weekend of football events to prepare for the fall season.
The players on all these teams worked hard, worked together, and stepped up to demonstrate the determination they possess.

Congratulations to Team #2 for winning the Lift for Cure Event to benefit Breakthrough T1D in February. We got to celebrate on Sunday with the players, lift coaches and Kirby family at Riko’s Darien. A huge thank you to the Kirby Family who treated the group to pizza and wings! Also thanks to the team captain Liam Bortel, the lift coaches and Riko’s Darien for hosting us!

Blue Wave Football players participated in the 9th annual Men Making Pies event today at The Depot - Darien Youth Center.

35 pies were donated to New Covenant Center in Stamford to serve during dinner next week. Players also dropped-off pies to the Darien Police Station, Darien EMS - Post 53, Darien Fire Department and the Noroton Heights Fire Department to thank them for everything they do for our community. Players will deliver pies to Darien High School on Monday to thank the staff for their dedication to all of our students. They will also drop off pies to At Home in Darien and the Darien Public Schools Central Office.

Thank you to The Depot Youth Center for hosting this event each year!

What a great day yesterday for the 9th Annual Breakthrough T1D Lift for a Cure! We raised over $12,000 to date this year for a cause that has touched many members of the Blue Wave family. 🏈

A huge thank you to our DHS football players, their sponsors and all who donated to the event. Special thanks to our coaches Andy Grant, Anthony Parelli, Erle Ladson, Dave Benoit, Ben Joseph, Amir Preston, and Michelle Sini, team captains Jimmy Benedict, Liam Bortel, Aiden Ramos and Luca Singh & senior players Ryan Gately, Jack Hanley, Jayden Harron, Chase Lane, Ryan McGahren and Ryan O’Malley who helped run the event and cheer on the participants ; special guests Jim, Melissa and Evan Kirby (Evan has Type 1 diabetes and is brother of current player Jason); Eric Byrne, DPS Superintendent; Ellen Dunn, DHS Principal; Keith Keeler and Alison Mullane, DHS Assistant Principals; Chris Manfredonia, DHS Athletic Director; Justin Warzoha, DHS Assistant Athletic Director, Jill Waller, Regional Representative Breakthrough T1D and parents Jeanine Bortel and Liz Benedict.
