We’ve been hard at work for the last few months improving infrastructure, raising money, and working with the Darby School District. Parents and kids from the BMC have been working the concession stand at the Darby Rodeos and we’ve put in a lot of work into what is now commonly referred to as the “Q.” The Quonset at the Darby Rodeo Grounds is home to the BMC, and this year we have made huge improvements to the building, with the help of donors, the city of Darby and the Darby Rodeo Association. We’d like to thank the following supporters for helping us make the much-needed upgrades, to turn the Quonset, into the BMC Range:
Spray Foam Insulation and Fire Barrier Installed by Red Rock Insulation.
Heaters installed by Bitterroot Heating and Plumbing
Propane Tank installed by Energy Partners
Team Room framed and soon to be finished by Joe Hein
Electrical for our Team Room and heaters completed by DJ’s Electric
We expect to have the range complete in the next couple months and ready to go live with our youth shooting sports program after school starts in the fall. All kids who have helped raise money and/ or supported one of our outreach events will have the opportunity to shoot over the summer.
Darby School Marksmanship Program: Joe Hein and Dave Naber presented a plan to the Darby School Board to start a youth Safety & Marksmanship course at the Darby School for the 2023-2024 school year. The Darby School Board voted to adopt the program, which will either follow an already established curriculum, or we will follow closely to an NRA formatted course specifically tailored to the Darby School youth. Along with the program, we will be reaching out to Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks about offering Hunter’s Safety at the school, during the school day as part of the new program.
Thank you to all those who have supported our cause!
