If there is anyone from an earlier practice time that would like to come get a modified practice due to missing this week, please come on. It may look different but we will get some water time.

We got word from the neighborhood the problem is fixed, and we’ll be back at our home pool starting on Tuesday!

We’ll still be at Bishop on Monday while Coach Gloria is out of town, but I’m so excited to get back in the sunshine!!!! On Tuesday, our practice times will go back to what we had planned originally (8-9AM, 9-10AM, 10-10:50AM, and guppies and transitional from 11-11:30AM).

Well… this is not the email I planned on sending heading into Memorial Day weekend. 😅

We found out today that there is an issue with the Lake Forest pool that requires the neighborhood to temporarily close it until repairs can be made. They are actively working on it, but with it being a Friday and Memorial Day weekend, we unfortunately do not have an exact timeline yet. At this point, it could be two days, or it could be a two weeks.

We are SO sad this is happening, especially right at the beginning of swim season when everyone is excited and ready to go. But we are incredibly thankful that we’ve been given the opportunity to use the pool at Bishop State Community College while repairs are being made so that we can still get our season started.

We know this is not ideal. We also know it’s an inconvenience for many of our families. But truly, this is the only option we have right now to keep our swimmers in the water and keep the season moving forward.

And honestly… there are a couple of perks:

- It’s indoors, so no melting in the Alabama heat.
- The pool is bigger, which will actually give us some really nice space to work with.
- There is plenty of parking!

For now, we are planning to keep our original practice schedule, just pushed back by 30 minutes:

12 & up age group — 8:30–9:30 AM
9–11 age group — 9:30–10:30 AM
5–8 age group — 10:30–11:30 AM

Our Transitional Team swimmers will practice with the 5–8 age group.

We do not have any news on Guppies yet, but we are hopeful we’ll be back at Lake Forest by the time Guppies begins.

I know this is a lot of information all at once! Thank you in advance for being flexible and patient while we navigate this. We’re going to do everything we can to make this as smooth (and as fun!) as possible for our swimmers.

Alright y’all… after checking the radar way too many times today 😅 we’re going to go ahead and cancel tomorrow’s evaluations. BUT we’ve come up with a Plan B!

🏊 New Swimmer Evaluations:
• Monday, May 18th
• Tuesday, May 19th
(afternoons after school... more details coming soon!)

🏊 New Swimmer Practices:
• Wednesday, May 20th
• Thursday, May 21st
(afternoons)

🏊 Full Team Morning Practices Begin:
• Tuesday, May 26th
(this includes BOTH returning swimmers and new swimmers!)

🐠 Guppies will begin on Monday, June 1st!

Summer swim + Alabama weather = learning to roll with the chaos a little 😂 Thank y’all for being flexible with us. We seriously cannot WAIT for this season!

• all swimmers new to LFST
• AND our guppies who are ready to level up to the team (we love a glow-up moment 🥹)

We’ll be out there from 9:30–12:00, so just swing by anytime in that window... no stress on exact timing!
