⚠️ PARENTS: A QUICK ONLINE SAFETY REMINDER

I saw a post from a local parent today that really caught my attention. Their family discovered a second phone their child had secretly been using, and what they found raised concerns about inappropriate photos and possible online grooming.

This isn’t about scaring parents. It’s a reminder that good kids can still make unsafe choices—and people online can be very skilled at gaining a child’s trust.

A few things worth doing tonight:

📱 Check what devices are connected to your home Wi-Fi.
🔍 Know which apps and accounts your child is actually using.
🚩 Talk about grooming: secrecy, gifts, excessive compliments, moving conversations to another app, or requests for photos.
❤️ Make sure your child knows they can come to you even if they broke a rule first. Their safety comes before the mistake.
👀 Watch for sudden secrecy, new passwords, hidden devices, late-night activity, or unusual anxiety around their phone.

Online awareness is self-defense, too.

Have the conversation. Keep having it. And remind your kids that asking an adult for help is a sign of strength.

What an AMAZING surprise we had at the dojo! 🥹🥋❤️

A student who trained with us years ago came back to visit — and brought the whole family! They made the trip all the way from Gulf Shores to Daphne just to stop by the dojo and see us.

There are some moments that remind us exactly why we’ve been doing this for all these years.

Students may grow up. Families move. Life changes. Years pass. But the relationships built on these mats can last far beyond the time someone spends training with us.

To know that someone who was part of our dojo years ago would think of us, make the drive, and bring their family back to visit means more than we can say.

We are so incredibly blessed, honored, and grateful. ❤️

This is what we mean when we say dojo family.

You may not train with us forever, but you’ll always be part of the SCS story.
