💥 Danville Martial Arts – Noon Class Highlights 💥

Today, our noon class focused on sharpening our submissions, specifically covering how to properly finish a top-side triangle, along with smooth transitions from a bottom-side triangle to a top-side triangle.

What made today even better was seeing leadership in action. One of our Junior Spartans stepped up to help a new trial student—going over the basics of Jiu-Jitsu, including breakfalls, shrimps, and introducing the various positions.

This is what it’s all about—building skill, confidence, and leadership while supporting each other on the mats.

Great work by everyone today! 👊🥋

⏱️ Take Your Lunch Hour Back – Train at Noon 🥋

Stuck at the house, dealing with housework or the kids, or maybe just behind a desk all day? Step away for an hour and come give Jiu-Jitsu a try at noon.

That one hour can make a bigger difference than you think:

💭 Mentally – Clear your head, reduce stress, and reset your focus for the rest of the day.
💪 Physically – Get a full-body workout that builds strength, mobility, and endurance.
❤️ Emotionally – Boost confidence, improve mood, and leave feeling accomplished.

Instead of scrolling, stressing, or sitting still… come move, learn, and grow.

You don’t need experience—just show up and give it a try.

Your mind and body will thank you. 👊

🌟 Weekly Junior Spartan Student Highlight – Willow Wylie 🌟

This week we’re proud to highlight Willow Wylie!

Willow has been training with Lawler Jiu-Jitsu for a year and a half and continues to show great growth both on and off the mats. Her dedication and positive attitude make her a valued part of the team.

Outside of training, Willow loves cats 🐱, and she brings that same calm, focused energy into her Jiu-Jitsu journey.

Willow shared that Jiu-Jitsu has helped her grow by learning to respect herself and others, which is one of the most important lessons martial arts can offer.

We’re proud of the progress Willow has made and excited to see her continue to grow in confidence, skill, and character.

Keep up the great work, Willow! 👏🥋

This week, we’re proud to highlight Harley Van Tassel!

Harley has been training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with Lawler Jiu-Jitsu for about four months and is already showing a strong desire to learn and grow. Originally from Oregon, Harley brings great energy to the mats, loves music, and is always eager to pick up new skills.

We’re excited to see Harley continue to build confidence, sharpen his technique, and grow both on and off the mats.

🌟 Little Warrior Weekly Highlight 🌟

This week's Little Warrior Highlight is **Isaiah Hardy-Moore**!

Isaiah has been training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with Lawler Jiu-Jitsu for the past three months and has already shown great enthusiasm and dedication on the mats. As the youngest of four siblings, he knows how to keep up with the action and bring plenty of energy to every class.

When asked why Jiu-Jitsu is important to him, Isaiah said it's because it's **good exercise, challenging, and fun**. We couldn't agree more! Jiu-Jitsu helps build confidence, discipline, problem-solving skills, and resilience while keeping kids active and engaged.

We're proud of the progress Isaiah has made in such a short time and look forward to seeing his continued growth both on and off the mats.

Keep up the great work, Isaiah! 👏🥋💪

🥋🔥 Teen & Adult BJJ Working From Guard! 🔥🥋

Tonight’s Teen & Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class focused on one of the most important positions in the sport—the guard. Whether you’re looking for sweeps, submissions, or simply controlling the pace of a match, a strong guard game is a critical part of becoming a complete grappler.

Our students worked hard on technique, timing, and creating opportunities from the bottom position while learning how to stay calm and efficient under pressure.

BJJ is often called “human chess” because every position presents new problems to solve. Watching our students improve their understanding of the guard and apply it during live training is always exciting!

Great work by everyone who hit the mats tonight! 👏💪

🥋🔥 Jr. Spartans BJJ (Ages 9-12) at Danville Martial Arts! 🔥🥋

Our Jr. Spartans are putting in the work and getting better every class! 💪 Today these young athletes focused on building strong fundamentals, improving technique, and learning how to stay calm under pressure.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu teaches so much more than self-defense—it helps kids develop confidence, discipline, respect, problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethic that carries over into school, sports, and everyday life.

We’re proud of the effort and determination this group shows every time they step on the mats! 👏
