🥋 IN JIU-JITSU, RESPECT IS ALSO LEARNED ON THE MATS

🤝 A handshake may seem like a simple gesture, but in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, it says a lot. It’s a way of acknowledging and respecting the person who is there sharing the training experience with you.

❤️ You can battle for positions, attempt submissions, and have an intense round. When it’s over, the person in front of you still deserves the same respect they had when the training began.

🥋 And that is passed down from generation to generation on the mats. Kids, teens, and adults learn that intensity and respect can exist in exactly the same space.

📲 Come experience this culture on the mats. Schedule your FREE Trial Week at Ryan Thomas BJJ through the link in our Stories or bio.

🥋 WHO SAID EVERY TRAINING SESSION HAS TO BE SERIOUS?

😄 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu requires focus, technique, effort, and plenty of repetition. But none of that means you have to spend the entire class with a serious face.

🤝 Training is also about sharing the mats with others, testing what you’ve learned, taking on challenges, and enjoying those moments when something during training ends in a good laugh.

❤️ Maybe that’s one of the reasons so many people fall in love with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: you’re learning and improving, while also being part of an environment where you genuinely enjoy spending your time.

🤝 WHAT CAN KIDS LEARN WHEN THEY HAVE TO WORK TOGETHER?

🥋 A Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Kids Class isn’t always about one child working against another. There are also moments when kids interact, cooperate, and learn how to participate in an activity together.

👧👦 On the mats, children have opportunities to communicate, understand their role, work alongside their teammates, and discover that sometimes reaching a goal requires more than individual effort.

❤️ And that’s an important lesson for kids: knowing how to be part of a team, contribute, and work with others is a skill they can carry far beyond the mats.

📲 Give your child the opportunity to experience everything a Kids Class can offer. Schedule a FREE Trial Week at Ryan Thomas Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

🥋 WOULD YOUR DAUGHTER KNOW WHAT TO DO AGAINST SOMEONE BIGGER OR STRONGER?

👧 In Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, girls learn from an early age that they won’t always be able to rely on physical strength. That’s why they develop technique, positioning, balance, control, and ways to respond when they find themselves at a disadvantage.

🥋 Training with different partners allows them to practice these skills in a safe and supervised environment, learning firsthand how to use what they’ve been taught.

💗 For parents, there’s something especially important about that: knowing their daughter is developing real self-defense skills while she’s still young.

📲 Give her the opportunity to experience it for herself. Schedule a FREE Trial Week at Ryan Thomas Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

🥋 BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU COULD BE THE HOBBY THAT’S MISSING FROM YOUR ROUTINE

⏰ When was the last time you set aside a few hours of your week to do something simply because you enjoy it? In adult life, work, family, and responsibilities can quickly take up every available space in your schedule.

❤️ Having a hobby also means having something to look forward to during the week. That time that’s yours, when you meet other people, get moving, learn, and step away from your usual routine to do something different.

🥋 And maybe that’s exactly why Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu appeals to so many adults. You start because you want to try something new, and before you know it, you’re looking forward to the next class, the next technique, and another day on the mats.

📲 Want to find out if Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu could become your new hobby? Schedule your FREE Trial Week at Ryan Thomas BJJ through the link in our Stories or bio.

🥋 THERE COMES AN AGE WHEN YOUR CHILD STARTS LISTENING TO VOICES OTHER THAN YOURS

❤️ As kids grow into their teenage years, teachers, coaches, and other trusted adults begin to play a different role in their lives. That’s why the people surrounding your child matter too.

🤝 On the mats, a coach isn’t there just to demonstrate a technique. A coach observes, corrects, challenges, trains alongside the student, and closely follows their development. Research in youth sports highlights the importance of quality coaching in young athletes’ development.

🥋 For parents, choosing where your child trains also means choosing who will be helping teach and guide them during such an important stage of life.

🥋 HOW MUCH OF YOUR CHILD’S DAY IS ACTUALLY SPENT MOVING?

🏃 Between school, homework, car rides, TV, video games, and other sedentary parts of the day, it isn’t always easy to make sure kids have enough opportunities to simply use their bodies and move.

🥋 That’s one of the first things you notice in a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Kids Class: kids move. They get up, get down, roll, change positions, train with their classmates, and actively participate throughout the class.

😊 And the best part is that physical activity doesn’t have to feel like a chore. With a dynamic class, other kids to train with, and something new to learn, moving can become one of the most fun parts of their day.

📲 Add more movement to your child’s routine. Schedule a FREE Trial Week at Ryan Thomas Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

🥋 WHO SAID FIGHTING ISN’T FOR GIRLS?

❤️ Some parents may wonder whether martial arts are really the right activity for their daughters. After all, we’re talking about fighting, physical contact, takedowns, and a sport that, for a long time, was seen as predominantly male.

🎀 But a girl doesn’t have to change who she is to practice Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. She can love pink and love to fight. She can be gentle and learn how to defend herself. She can be sweet, playful, girly, and at the same time discover that she’s much stronger than she ever imagined.

🥋 The mats don’t take anything away from a girl’s personality. They simply add new skills, new experiences, and one more sport she has the freedom to choose.

📲 Let your daughter discover whether Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu could be her sport too. Schedule her FREE Trial Week at Ryan Thomas Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

🏆 WHAT DOES A CHILD LEARN WHEN THEY DECIDE TO COMPETE?

🥋 Competition gives kids an experience that’s different from what they encounter every day at the academy. There’s an opponent they don’t know, a new environment, rules, time limits, and the challenge of putting into practice what they’ve been learning in training.

❤️ It’s also an opportunity to discover that competing isn’t only about winning a medal. It’s about experiencing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in a different way, learning from every match, and returning to the academy knowing a little more about what they can continue to develop.

🥋 Maddison is one of our young competitors, and she represents that willingness to step outside the familiar environment of training and take on new challenges through competition.

📲 Your child can start their Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu story too. Schedule a FREE Trial Week at Ryan Thomas BJJ through the link in our Stories or bio.
