Lifelong commitment isn't what everyone imagines. It's not about waking up early every morning to make breakfast together or cuddling peacefully until you both fall asleep. It's not about having a spotless home and gourmet meals daily.
It's about stealing covers and snoring like a chainsaw. It's about slamming doors, exchanging harsh words, disagreeing, and giving each other the silent treatment until your hearts heal—then, forgiveness!
It's coming home to the same person every day who loves and cares for you, despite and because of who you are. It's laughing about the silly mistakes you've made, handling dirty laundry and unmade beds without blame. It's supporting each other through life's challenges.
It's about holding back nagging words, sharing a simple late-night meal at 10 p.m. after a hectic day. It's about your partner comforting you during emotional breakdowns, assuring you everything will be okay, and you believe them. It's about "Netflix and Chill" actually meaning watching Netflix and enjoying each other's company.
It's loving someone even when they drive you crazy, make you angry, or hurt your feelings. It's about loving them through all seasons of life—through thick and thin, happiness and grumpiness, youth and old age.
Living with the person you love isn't perfect. It's challenging at times, but it's also incredibly rewarding, comforting, and one of life's greatest experiences.
