Out of town without files. Corrected by a loyal fan……the Dans also had Chris Coghlan and Jon Papelbon in World series on winning teams. There may be more. Stay tuned, time flies. Will Klein a great young man and the newest World Series Dan. Besides that, Danville Stadium is here thanks to the Dodgers.

Congratulations to Danville Dans alumni, Will Klein, the newest of four Dans to have World Series on their resume. Congrats to Will and to the Dodgers whose minor league team was the first team who played at Danville Stadium. Nice win Dodgers!

Dear MLB and Major League Baseball Players Association,

I’m not sure what the right answer is.
I’m not really interested in picking sides.
Money sure does weird things to people.

Just know that every empty seat is a memory missed.

Every cancelled game is a cancelled opportunity for a father and son to bond through baseball.

Every empty field steals life-long memories from wide-eyed kids longing to interact with their heroes.

America needs baseball right now.
The world is a crazy place.

On this National Jackie Robinson Day --

The Brooklyn Dodgers today purchased the contract of Jackie Roosevelt Robinson from the Montreal Royals. He will report immediately.
Branch Rickey, news release issued April 10, 1947.

Jackie Robinson played at Danville Stadium with the Brooklyn Dodgers on June 20, 1947 where the Dodgers beat the Danville Dodgers 14-7 before a packed crowd of 6,052.
