Congratulations to Falon on earning her Junior Green Belt rank in Kenpo!

Falon absolutely aced her test with flying colors, and her jump kicks were right on point! She demonstrated great skill, focus, and determination throughout every part of her examination.

This year has brought some difficult circumstances for her family, but through it all, Falon continued to show up, work hard, and rise to every challenge placed before her. That kind of perseverance cannot be taught. It comes from deep within.

Falon has a true warrior’s heart. Her strength, resilience, and positive attitude are an inspiration to everyone around her. We are so proud of the young lady she is becoming and grateful to have her as part of our ROC Martial Arts family.

Congratulations, Falon! Your Junior Green Belt is well earned, and we can't wait to see all the great things ahead for you. Keep kicking high and never stop believing in yourself!

Congratulations to Korbin and Paul on earning their Yellow Belt ranks in Kenpo!

These two are so much fun!! Both boys are amazing Little Dragons, ages three and four, and have worked super hard and shown great determination during their training.

Martial arts is a wonderful way for young students to develop focus, confidence, and discipline, and both boys have made tremendous progress.

Korbin is proudly following in his family’s footsteps, as his dad also tested this week. It’s always special to see families growing and achieving together through martial arts!

We are so proud of the effort, perseverance, and positive attitudes that Korbin and Paul have shown. Their hard work has paid off, and they have truly earned their Yellow Belts.

Fantastic job, Korbin and Paul! Keep up the great work, we can’t wait to watch you continue to grow and succeed!

She has come so far in such a short amount of time, and watching her growth has been an absolute blessing. Sometimes in life, you are simply blessed to find your people at the perfect time… and this is definitely one of those moments.

I couldn’t be any more proud of these two! Their hard work, dedication, consistency, and positive attitudes have truly paid off. They have trained incredibly hard and enjoyed every moment of the journey along the way.

Hard work is simply in their DNA!!

James continues to put in the work both on and off the mat through his Kenpo training, kickboxing, and point sparring competitions. He’s showing what dedication, perseverance, and discipline look like while striving to become the best version of himself.

No matter the obstacles that try to stand in his way, James keeps pushing forward, growing stronger mentally and physically every step of the journey.

The Art of Focus vs. The Art of the Zoomies

I’m deep in the zone. Studio is quiet. Focus music is humming. I step into my kata, channeling pure discipline and inner peace.

Enter Artemis.

My handsome white German Shepherd who apparently decided martial arts is best accompanied by a high-octane rendition of “Black Betty.”

Suddenly, my serene studio turns into a canine racetrack. Leaping. Jumping. Pure chaos.

I try to regain my center and dive back in... BAM. Black Betty strikes again. Artemis is back for round two.

The real lesson?

It is easy to stay disciplined when conditions are perfect. But life rarely gives us perfect conditions. It throws unexpected obstacles, loud distractions, and chaotic “zoomies” right into the middle of our best-laid plans.

Perseverance, our word of the month, isn’t about waiting for the chaos to stop. It’s about the willingness to let the storm pass, and immediately step right back into your stance.

”Sometimes we don’t always get the focus time we want, but, we always get what we need.”

Don’t let the interruptions pull you out of the game. Laugh at the absurdity, and get right back to your objective.
