Just an fyi:
The R***r made Marlin lever action
1884 is being offered in
10mm
*1st up:
peep sight
threaded barrel
Stainless
Laminate stock
Trapper model
- I DO like the thought of a cool
smallish suppressible lever gun
in a caliber I already have . There
is something to be said for having
a pistol and a rifle in the
same caliber .
- I assume it will be light ,handy
& accurate .
- I guess it will have an extra 200
or so fps over a pistol
with the same load.
- I do have doubts about its
practicality , but how often do
gun owners , especially 10mm
fans ,, worry about that?
- The retail price of 1599 also
seems steep , but these days
I guess i should have expected
that.
- My experience with this platform
is limited to an older Marlin in
45/70,,, so I look forward to
getting my hands on one of these
to put through its paces.
- The big lever loop is an
expected point of controversy,
as it has fans & enemies in
equal numbers in my
estimation . Personally I
appreciate the large loop on a
rifle set up like this ,, as
it is sort of a
“ATV gun”-“farm walk gun”
albeit an expensive one,
in such a situation gloves
may be on when she is
called upon.
- An expected 10 round tube
capacity seems a little low.
-I did hear that the factory is
shipping a few out to
distributors now , but with a
limited # of this model expected
& with what I would assume to
be a lower demand overall , I
would say time is of the essence
as far as getting an order in , If
you fancy such a rifle.
- Also imo all of these things
usually are traits of a piece
that will hold its value very well.
-Researching , anticipating ,
searching for ,,& speculating on
an items collectibility are cool
ways we can have & enjoy
Top-Shelf-Gun-Fun.
