Prime focuses on the athletic and personal growth of field hockey players of all levels. As of now, Prime has participated mostly in indoor 6 v 6 leagues in the winter and colder months. Placing first or second multiple years in these indoor league tournaments is a source of pride for the players and coaches. The multiple teams of Prime allow more players access to the leagues and tournament play.
In the summer Prime has brought teams, some years multiple teams at different levels, to participate in the Baystate Games 6 v 6 tournament. All people should have a place to play if they want to, and Prime has always worked to make sure cost is as small of a burden as possible. The fees collected from the players cover the costs for the field time, league, uniforms, and any equipment. If there is ever an issue for a player not being able to cover the cost, contact a coach as soon as possible. Prime is more than willing to help and find a discrete solution allowing that player to continue playing without penalty. Brief Introduction to Club and Coaches
Prime Field Hockey is an up and coming field hockey club program. In 2004, Richard and Jillian Tobin decided to bring together a group of high school players and participate in a local winter indoor league. The pair saw success with the team early on and decided to reach out to players from neighboring areas and at a wider range of skill levels. Both founding coaches have attended clinics for coaching and have become referees as well. Along with high school and collegiate officiating Richard has found himself at the Disney Showcases and Festival as well as other USA sanctioned events as an official. Jillian played Division II field hockey while in college. When college drew to an end the field hockey world opened further for Jillian, pushing her to dedicate herself to coaching. She not only coaches players in a team environment but also works with players for position specific training and one-on-one instruction. The one-on-one and small group instruction has proven to be successful in helping to launch many players into the next level of play. This past summer of 2014 Jillian had the pleasure of coaching at the NIKE camp. Captain is a position earned in Prime not solely on skill or popularity, this person must be a hard working, reliable player who finds enjoyment in the game. As a player Kathryn Tobin led teams to place multiple times in tournament play with her strong and smart play. Her patience, hard work, and sportsmanship made Kathryn a good captain, and these traits took her from player to coach in 2009. Joining her father and sister, Kathryn Tobin has become a referee as well. As an official she has participated in the Disney Showcases multiple years.
