Some nice stags right here! This group has had this trip planned for two years, and it was definitely worth the wait.

We spent the first night right in the middle of the roar, and what a sound it was! Stags were calling all around us. One mid-400-inch stag controlled the middle of the field for most of the evening, but there was a small window when he was chasing a female. That gave us just enough opportunity to get a few smaller stags into the field.

The morning hunt went quicker than expected. With the roar in full swing, we headed to the swamp, spotted a nice lone stag, and put the stalk on.

Within an hour, we were within range and made a great shot through the trees.

Three generations came in today, all local folks from the Lubec area.

I met Stephen through a friend, and he’s making a metal feeder for me to try to cut down on hay waste. He wanted his labor to be his payment for his grandson getting the chance to shoot his first deer.

Well, the youngster got himself a nice 6×7 stag! He made a great shot—especially for a 9-year-old.

What a weekend of hunting! The roar was in full swing, the stags were going crazy, and the chasing was hard.

It gave us plenty of opportunities at some great stags, but sometimes they were there and gone before we could get on them.

The first one was a giant, boasting 39 points and scoring in the mid-400s — the most points we’ve had on a stag yet this year!

We also took three good mid-300-inch red stags and a 2½-year-old heifer bison to help fill the freezer.

We had three hunters from Michigan, one from Connecticut, and two right here from Maine.

Mike and his dad have hunted with us every year since 2019. His dad, now in his 80s, is still getting it done! It’s always great having them back and watching them make more memories together.

🫎 Moose Season is Here!

It was a rough two-day start with the Northeaster hitting Maine and the full moon upon us. But the guides worked diligently, found good sign, and never gave up.

Wednesday morning, both guides brought the moose right in to their clients—and what a show it was!

If you’ve ever called one of these beasts to within 20 yards, you know how exhilarating it is. The massive size, power, and presence of a bull moose that close is something you never forget!

Both were great bulls. The first measured 48 inches—congratulations to David and his guide Jason!

The second was an impressive 42 inches and 768 lbs dressed—congratulations to Andrew and his guide Lloyd!

Great work by the entire Grand Lake Hunt and Blues Wilderness Hunt teams. This keeps our moose success rate at 100% over the past five years! 💪🫎

Looking forward to the second moose season and hopefully some more action!

What a week of hunting here at Grand Lake Hunt! We had hunters join us from Texas, Wisconsin, D.C., and all the way from Italy.

Check out these beautiful stags! All but one came in in the mid-400s, with each one boasting an average of 30 points. Everyone made great shots, had an incredible experience, and filled their freezers for a while!

Tom and the team, we’ll see you all next October for your 3rd straight year!

Luca and the Italian team, we’ll see you in September for your 3rd straight year as well!

And Mark, we’ll see you next time for your 2nd visit!

Families are the most important part of who we are. Having them here, making memories, and watching those dreams come true together is truly what Grand Lake Hunt is all about.

There’s something unmatched about family time and putting wholesome, quality food on the table—especially when you get to experience it together in the outdoors.

Last week, we had four different groups made up of fathers and sons. What an awesome time with some truly great people. Great memories, great food, and a hunt they’ll remember for years to come.

That’s what it’s all about. 🦌🤝

Week Four is here, and what a start! 🐻

On Day 3 of the hunt, we’ve already harvested 11 bears for 13 hunters! These are all over-bait hunts—no trapping and no dogs, just hunting over bait.

We’ve had a lot of great bears taken this week, with more than half weighing in the mid-200s, including one impressive bear in the mid-300s!

We’re planning to finish out this week at 100%, and for the last couple of days, we’re looking forward to adding some FREE youth hunts to the schedule.

It’s been an incredible week so far, and we’re just getting started! 🐻🔥
