Today was a great day! We are grateful to have been able to offer local youth a chance to experience something new, ask questions, and see a very different way of life here in Maine. A few were already asking if they could go again next year, which might be the best feedback of all.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Billy Bob Faulkingham, Maine House Minority Leader and State Representative for District 12, along with Dan Daley, candidate for Maine House District 10, to Grand Lake Hunt.

This visit marked the first time state-level leaders have taken a direct interest in our business. We appreciate the effort it took to travel to Danforth, spend time with us in the field, and see firsthand the challenges and opportunities facing businesses and communities in this part of Maine.

As a veteran-owned business, we value leaders who understand the importance of service. Too often, rural communities like Danforth are discussed from afar rather than engaged directly. It is encouraging to see individuals willing to come here, learn about our day-to-day operations, and take an interest in helping rural Maine succeed.

Dan Daley has been a longtime supporter of Grand Lake Hunt, and we are grateful for his continued friendship and encouragement.

Sorry for the late notice, but the lobster trip has been rescheduled to Saturday, June 13, 2026.

Departure: 7:00 AM
Location: 314 Irish Settlement Road, Danforth, Maine

Kids are expected to return between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM that evening.

The weather was one factor in postponing the trip, and the other was participation. We currently have six kids signed up and would like to have 8–10 participants, ages 10–16.

If your child is interested in attending, please let us know as soon as possible. We have intentionally kept this event local and would love to give more area youth the opportunity to participate.
