This could have been shot in Stokes County as easily as it was shot and experienced in Transylvania County.
But Stokes still doesn't have an Economic Development Director much less a Tourism Director ... after over 3 YEARS! The current long-standing Stokes Board of County Commissioners needs to be replaced.

The greatest outdoor event of the year here in the Sauratown Mountains.

POLAR WEATHER ALERT: The New Years Day High Temperature will occur today during the 3:00pm hour. In advance of the Plunge the temps will be climbing to 28 degrees. After running out of the Lake temps will begin to drop again.

Celebrate the first day of 2018 at Hanging Rock State Park with a First Day hike beginning at 10:00am and the Polar Plunge festivities kicking off at 3:00pm.

Readers and fans of the Stokes Outdoors page!

This is your recently absent page admin, Dale Swanson. I have had to leave the area for gainful employment and just don't have time to keep the page updated.

Rather than shut it down I'm accepting applications for a new administrator. With over 1,200 followers it would be stupid to just let it die.

Please submit links to pages you currently manage as well as a short essay explaining 1) your qualifications, 2) what you'd like to do with it, and 3) the outdoor adventure sports in which you are actively involved.

Looking forward to some interesting reading!
